BAJA DREAMWORKS is pleased to introduce NICA CELLY, an expanded practice artist exploring consciousness through word and form. Her current work investigates the subtle architectures of attention through social and collaborative projects that activate breath and body as sites of discovery

She holds an MFA in textiles from California College of the Arts and a 1008-hour certification in yoga with Janet Stone. Residencies include the Jentel Foundation, Brush Creek, UCross, Headlands Center for the Arts, and the Vermont Studio Center.

“Being with the arts community here in TS is unlike any residency, schooling, or expression
I have seen yet. We get to do most of our practices, pushing the edges of inquiry with the
Most open, receptive, and discerning community I have had the privilege of living with. I’m
Proud and humbled to be a part of this community. Gracias pro todo”

We are overjoyed to have NICA as part of the Baja Dreamworks community. Her enthusiasm and creativity is inspiring which makes her and her work a mirror of the creative spirit we seek to create and inspire at Baja Dreamworks.

The magic is in showing up. Not knowing how it will unfold, not needing it to look a certain way. Just arriving, again and again, to what is.

When we loosen our grip on the imagined path, we make space for the one unfolding beneath our feet.

Sharanam Ganesha! I surrender to what is and trust the path as it all unfolds ❤️

I almost let fear convince me that I didn’t belong here.

This weekend was the in-person intensive for the nine-month mentorship I’ve been doing with Janet Stone. I walked into it nervous, guarded and questioning whether I was the right kind of person for this space. But little by little, through the learning, the honesty, the laughter, the movement and the people, that story started to fall apart.

I learned more than the Purusharthas—the four aims of life—this weekend. I learned what they look like when they’re actually lived. I got real about what I value, what I want and where I feel called next.

And somewhere along the way, I stopped wondering if I belonged and simply let myself belong.

I came home feeling clearer, fuller and so ready to teach again. I can’t wait to bring some of what this weekend opened up in me back to @lifted_lotus_yogacollective and onto the mat with all of you. 💙🕉

I’m so grateful to @janetstoneyoga , @connie.engel and @saradavisstudio for creating the space for all of this. AAAAND I’m so #blessed to have made so many new friends with the incredible women in my cohort. 🫶🏻

I had to make a “talk to the camera” video during my mentorship intensive this weekend and honestly, I hated it. 😂

But the practice wasn’t about making the perfect video. It was about allowing myself to be seen, using my voice and putting myself out there even when it feels uncomfortable.

So…here I am. Doing the damn thing. 🤍

I have so much more to share from this weekend both here on the socials and in the studio. Stay tuned! ✨

One of the most meaningful parts of traveling together are the moments that naturally unfold around the table.

The stories that last a little longer.
The laughter between courses.
The slow mornings with fresh juices.
The evening when no one has to cook, clean, or decide where to eat.

That's why we've introduced curated chef experiences at @cueducto.

Working with talented local chefs, we create meals inspired by the seasons of Baja—from Pacific seafood and vibrant produce to nourishing wellness menus and family-style feasts designed to bring everyone together.

Whether you're celebrating with family, hosting a wellness retreat, reconnecting with friends, or simply wanting to slow down, we'll help create a dining experience that becomes part of your stay—not just another meal.

✨ Available as an optional experience for every Acueducto reservation.

Send us a message to begin planning your stay.

🌿 what is the understory 🌿

When @nicacelly and I first decided to collaborate, we had a general idea of what we wanted to offer. The creation of a portal, a way to call creativity and connection forward in a time that is increasingly antithetical to what will actually sustain us through These Times.

Landing on understory brought our desire into stunning relief. Ecologically speaking the understory is a place of emergence. It is a place protected by the high canopy, where nutrients cycle from decomposition to feed vibrant new growth. For us, the metaphors felt as rich and potent as the soil itself.

This is landscape we want to explore with you. In this place, subtle perception finds form. Through encounters with word, body and the More Than Human world, perception expands: from micro to macro, breath to landscape, individual to collective.

🌬️ pranayama
🧘 gentle yoga
✍️ creative writing
🌿 forest bathing

We invite you to discover and tend to your personal understory, there are no prerequisites - just an open curiosity and willingness to begin.
