POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
8/8 in photos.

One day I want my babies to see, not just my resilience and love for them, but the love that carried us through so they will always know how loved this family was 🩷 there will never be words to express the gratitude I have for our village.

If you or someone you love has been recently diagnosed, or are just starting this chapter….this will not define your whole story. you will be carried by people, by love, and by something greater than yourself. You are not alone

When I started photographing woman, I had no idea who I was. ⁣
⁣
I wanted moms to be perfect⁣
⁣
I wanted their families to look perfect. ⁣
⁣
I thought what THEY wanted was for their lives to look perfect. ⁣
⁣
And then, in 2018, my life fell apart- ⁣
⁣
“Perfect” or even the notion of it- vanished from my vocabulary. ⁣
⁣
And while the longer story involves a LOT of therapy, what started happening is that I realized how MUCH of motherhood I was missing. ⁣
⁣
How the beauty of that is not at all found in perfection, but grows from every crack in our foundation. ⁣
⁣
There’s this quote I found in college- “ sometimes good things fall apart, so that better things can fall together,” and that’s stuck with me. ⁣
⁣
It happened slowly, and then somehow all at once but I so hard for all of the little “cracks” we see mirrored in each other. ⁣
⁣
“I’m struggling”, “I’m overwhelmed”, and “I’m lost”, no longer read as failures to me- they just felt so true. ⁣
⁣
Because what is motherhood, if not a stunning and wild tangle of mess, beautiful, RAW learning and unlearning and relearning and becoming? ⁣
⁣
And while I can’t speak from the experience of motherhood (though one day, I desperately hope to) what I can so earnestly say is that the things that I find THE MOST strikingly beautiful are often when things feel so raw. So real. ⁣
⁣
To the mother with the colicky babies- I see you. ⁣
⁣
To the mother who feels like she’s falling apart- I see you. ⁣
⁣
To the mother who has no idea how she’s going to pull it together for one more night- I SEE YOU. ⁣
⁣
And to the mamas who feel so at ease in their motherhood- I see you!⁣
⁣
To the mamas who feel a little lost, or so alone- I see you. ⁣
⁣
To the single moms, and the married moms, the divorced and widowed moms- I see you. ⁣
⁣
To the moms who are no longer with us <3 ⁣
⁣
The moms who’s babies never cried- ⁣
⁣
The moms with angels, and rainbows, and the moms who are still waiting for theirs. ⁣
⁣
I see you. ⁣
⁣
And I am so honored to have documented just a sliver of your stories. ⁣
⁣
So to all the mamas- and especially mine! ⁣
⁣
THANK YOU. For letting us witness what motherhood can be.
