Hey! Itʻs HYTC! Last week Sunday, we were on the north shore for our second in-person meeting of the year... we went to Kākoʻo ʻŌiwi , had lunch at the Waiahole Poi factory, visited Kualoa beach park & the Kaʻaʻawa Revetment, then came back to the B+K offices to plan out our impact projects. More soon!

Meet this year's officers!

HYTC recently held our officer elections, and these were the results:

From O'ahu, we have Nick, our Chair, Mariam, our Vice Chair, and Madison, our Secretary.

From Maui, Moss is returning as our Press Secretary.

We can't wait to see what we do together.

I miss Loco Moco.

It is a dish of Hawaiian cuisine I was introduced to this summer while in Oahu. Rice, a hamburger patty, gravy and an over easy egg when put together is a plate of goodness.

So today I went to the store, bought the ingredients and had Loco Moco for lunch.

I miss my friends.

The ones who shared their home with me and live 5,000 miles away in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I cannot recreate our conversations, adventures or memories like I did with Loco Moco, but I can carry these moments with me everywhere I go.

May I never forget everything I learned or look at a map, mountain, or mongoose the same. Not only do I cherish these memories, but now I get to share these stories in my own way. In my journal, in class, on a plane or maybe even one day on a train? These are stories about a place where rainbows never die, sea turtles lay on the sea shore, where many movies are made and where the culture is captivating.

The truth is we cannot go to the store and recreate stories, friendships, and memories which is what makes them so meaningful.

May we never take for granted what it means to miss our friends— that time was well spent and how we hope to meet again.

D.C. was an unforgettable experience for some of your Hawai'i FFA state officers at the State Officer Summit 2026! We dove deep into advocacy, honing our skills in public speaking and strategic planning. The connections we forged, both new and old, were truly inspiring, and we're bringing back a ton of new ideas and energy. Ready to put all this learning into action!
