A belated thank you for such an energetic opening of “Knowledge is Myth: Chimeric Continuities” on view @carpenter_center_harvard through December 13

This exhibition features works by four artists and collectives Enzo Camacho & Ami Lien, Candice Lin, Cole Lu @colelu and AYDO (Ayoung Yu & Nicholas Oh) @aydo_studio that complicate the binaries of mythology and knowledge, and their constructs + a selection of interinstitutional loans from archives and libraries across @harvard — stay tuned for more information soon about a NYC program / research talk with some of the artists at Asia Art Archive in America in December! 👁️

The magic of raku !

For those that might not know, Raku is an ancient Japanese firing technique that involves pots being pulled out of the kiln at around 1000 degrees while they are glowing red hot. The pots are then placed one by one in a trashcan with newspaper and other combustibles, before being closed airtight to create a smoke-heavy reduction atmosphere that results in beautiful and unique metallic surfaces.

Shoutout to @nicholasohstudio my Professor and the bravest fire bender

International Arrivals speaks with AYDO @aydo_studio the interdisciplinary artist duo of Nicholas Oh @nicholasohstudio and Ayoung Yu @ayoungyustudio (Korea/USA), about their exploration of Korean folklore and pre-colonial spiritual practices through ceramics, performance, and video. They reflect on their diasporic experiences, cultural identity, Oh’s connection to breakdancing, and the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that divides North and South Korea. The DMZ features prominently in their project “Border Ecologies,”created for Open Call: Portals at The Shed in New York City in 2025, which includes life-size ceramic zodiac figures and video.
