New short film cooking!! I wrote a final project to make in Winston Salem before I leave for my next chapter. This will be my first time (FINALLY) not acting in my own project. Not because I don’t want to and not because I don’t believe in myself as an actor, but because I am driven and confident in my potential as a writer/director. To give myself another opportunity to focus on that with the community I’ve built here, I wrote a heartfelt (but a little heartbreaking), human, and hopeful film about a family dealing with incoming dementia. It’s a short short, and I’ve managed to pull a crew and cast together to work pro bono. But in order to make the film to the standards we all want, even at bare bones, there’s a few thousand dollars that has to come from somewhere... It will go towards food and drink, insurance, gear rental, score, colour, and final mixing. Soooooo here I am... once again with my poor artist’s hat in my hand saying, “Art MATTERS. Art reminds us to think, to question, to feel, and to change when needed! By donating to this film not only can you squeeze in a TAX DEDUCTION before the year’s end but you’re also helping bring more art into the world at a time we reeeaaally need it!” Massive thanks to the @artscouncilwsfc for continuing to be my fiscal sponsor as a filmmaker, AND allowing your donations to be tax deductible! DONATION LINK IN BIO!

The Wall Chat welcomes Nick Jackson as our Director of Photography! Nick Jackson (he/him), is a North Carolina based artist currently working towards his BFA at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he focuses on cinematography and how light, camera angles, and movement create an engaging story. While Nick hails from a long line of business and English majors, he is the first of his family to pursue a career in the arts. So far he has worked on several short films both in and out of school, as well as independent documentaries. Though he loves movies, he also enjoys music history and is classically trained on guitar.
