LOSE YOUR LIMBS WITH ARMS @armsfl AND THEIR GRISTLY NEW VIDEO FOR “SMALL DEATH”

You’ve heard of Florida man, but have you heard of Florida bands? Well, of course you have. From punk rock and nu-metal to death metal and mathcore, it’s a state whose bands rarely, if ever, cater to normality. Yet even in the face of this rich history and diverse roster, ARMS has always stood out.

Calling ARMS a mathcore unit almost sells them short – yes, there are absolutely pitched-out guitars, lacerative screams, and punishing non-linear passages, but there’s been a ton of variety along the way, coalescing a strong sense of identity beneath the chaos.

Their new single “Small Death” shows this off perfectly, homing in on a sense of sonic focus that borders on tech-death, but also in terms of narrative. It’s a great preview to what lies in wait on their new album I Wish You Were Down Here With Me, and Fecking Bahamas @feckingbahamas is honored to premiere the Paul Hundeby @philiaaudio directed video for it over at www.feckingbahamas.com

It’s difficult to take an expansive body of work and summarize it into one song, especially when great lengths were taken for this project to exist outside the normal standards of marketability.
A great deal of this record was created with the intention of representing something larger, more dynamic, and more difficult to quantify than what can easily be packaged, categorized, or reduced to a product. At times, the emotion and expression behind this project were deliberately manifested in ways that were never intended to be readily commercialized, or to comfortably fit within the quantification of consumerism.

After many years of tireless work, and after going through every avenue we could find to figure out how to push this new material forward, we’ve reached the point where we can finally begin sharing it.

We bring you Small Death.

In some ways, this song represents certain parts of the album very directly. In other ways, it doesn’t represent the album at all. That contradiction feels appropriate. This is an expansive body of work, and there was never going to be one song capable of containing everything that went into it.

But Small Death is where we begin.

The track stream premieres tomorrow on @feckingbahamas
