Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Zénith, Paris 03.10.2017 Some go and some stay behind Some never move at all Girl in amber trapped forever, spinning down the hall Let no part of her go unremembered, clothes across the floor Girl in amber lumber slumber shuts the bathroom door The phone, the phone, the phone it rings, it rings, it rings no more The song, the song, the song it spins since nineteen eighty-four The phone, the phone, the phone, it rings, the phone, it rings no more The song, the song it's been spinning now since nineteen And if you want to bleed, just bleed And if you want to bleed, just bleed And if you want to bleed, don't breathe A word Just step away and let the world spin And now in turn, you turn You kneel, lace up his shoes, your little blue-eyed boy Take him by his hand, go move and spin him down the hall I get lucky, I get lucky 'cause I tried again I knew the world it would stop spinning now since you've been gone I used to think that when you died you kind of wandered the world In a slumber till you crumbled, were absorbed into the earth Well, I don't think that any more The phone it rings no more The song, the song it spins, it spins now since nineteen eighty-four The song, the song, the song it spins, it's been a spinning now And if you'll hold me I will tell you that you know that And if you want to leave, don't breathe And if you want to leave, don't breathe And if you want to leave, don't breathe a word And let the world turn The song, the song it spins, the song, it spins, it spins no more The phone, it rings, it rings And you won't stay Don't touch me Don't touch me Don't touch me Don't touch me . . . . #nickcave #warrenellis #skeletontree #letlovein #girlinamber #concertphotography #gigphotography #intomyarms #nickcaveandthebadseeds #carnage #imisslivemusic #concert #badseeds #music #nickcaveandwarrenellis #stagephotography

Venus in Furs will be played on @adamsarchive891 tonight! Adam's Archive is on tonight at 7:00 - 9:00 PM US Central Daylight Time (00:00 - 02:00 GMT) on KNNZ 89.1 FM in the region (or via radio tuner app) and streaming worldwide via Shoutcast at http://108.59.11.81:8315/ (or plug the numbers into your preferred media player) and http://bit.ly/2AlBXHE (Link in Bio) Tonight I'll be playing one of last fall's best installments, focusing on the 20th anniversary of AFI's The Art of Drowning album. That broadcast was also on the day of the 16th anniversary of the release of the Abattoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus double album by Nick Cave, & I played tracks from that as well, along with a song by my band Venus In Furs that has connections to both of those albums, plus one of my own Nick Cave covers. Stabbing Westward had released their first new material in almost two decades, including a cover of The Cure's Burn. We'll hear that, along with new tracks from Assemblage 23, The Young Gods, & Chris Connelly (covering Scott Walker!). In addition to the Cure and Scott Walker covers, there are more interesting cover songs. The key members of Stabbing Westward Depeche Mode with The Dreaming. The Sisters of Mercy have been reinterpreted both by Diane Birch (with Phenomenal Handclap Band) and by Mark Morriss. AFI turn up again covering Nine Inch Nails (we'll hear some excerpts of the Watchmen soundtrack that led to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' recent awards as well), Witch of the Vale managed to make Don Henley gothic, Caress had an ethereal take on Patti Smith, Jack Alacka took on Low, & while not a cover as such, Fury Weekend remixed Nirvana in a way you've never heard them. #coldwaves #coldwavesfestival #coldwavesfestival #coldwaveschicago #themetrochicago #stabbingwestwardreunion #cracknation #cleopatrarecords #metropolisrecords #industrialaesthetic #industrialmusic #industrialstyle #industrialculture #industrialrock #industrialmetal #industrialfestival #coldwavemusic #coldwave #coldwaves2020 #venusinfurs #venusinfursband #venusinfursofficial #fargomusic #fargomusicscene #industrialgothic #industrialgoth #industrialgoths #industrialgothmusic #nineinchnails #dunealtar

This song is a semi-comically melodramatic take on Stephen King's novel “The Stand” and it depicts a nightmarish figure emerging on "the edge of town”. Nick Cave told Q Magazine in October 2007 that: "A good song has the ability to continue to reveal itself to you long after you've actually written it. This one's pretty good (for that)”. . . . . . #day73 #nickcave #redrighthand #nickcaveandthebadseeds #songoftheday #songoftheday365 #guitar #band #musician #alternative #concert #alternativerock #pop #indiepop #poprock #music #arcticmonkeys #thestrokes #rock #twentyonepilots #concert #vinyl #artist #live #indie #indierock #modernrock #花

portrait no.269 Here’s my portrait of #NickCave. I discovered him quite late with that famous #KylieMinogue ballad. I mainly know his great soundtrack work. #TheProposition for which he wrote the screenplay is awesome! In my portrait I tried to do with coloured pencils what I usually achieve with graphite. I did this because they just blend easier with their own white than graphite blends with the charcoal white. @nickcaveofficial . . . . . #MurderBallads #TheBoatmansCall #RedRightHand #TheAssassinationofJesseJames #HellOrHighWater #WindRiver #poetry #realisticdrawing #colouredpencildrawing #colouredpencilart #NickCaveportrait #NickCavepainting #marclehmannart #empirearrt #talents_world_pub #artdrawingspotlight #art_peace #pro_artey

Half the year is behind us now! Yeow. What's everyone's picks for best-of-2021? Shout it out in the comments. I've been quite fond of #NickCave's new one: "Carnage." Recommended if you like: sad, the sads, being sad/blue/misery, and also non-happy.

Adam's Archive is on tonight at 7:00 - 9:00 PM US Central Daylight Time (00:00 - 02:00 GMT) on KNNZ 89.1 FM in the region (or via radio tuner app) and streaming worldwide via Shoutcast at http://108.59.11.81:8315/ (or plug the address into your preferred media player), apps like Radio Garden, and http://bit.ly/2AlBXHE. (Link in Bio) Nick Cave & Warren Ellis' CARNAGE album was released digitally by surprise in February, & it has now just been released on physical formats. I'll be running an encore of the edition done days after the release of CARNAGE to coincide with that. I'll be playing plenty of music from CARNAGE tonight. There will also be some Grinderman, for those disappointed by the lack of down and dirty guitar on the album. On the opposite end, you'll also hear Nick Cave's lyrics on his chamber opera collaboration with Nicholas Lens, L.I.T.A.N.I.E.S., released late last year. Tracks inspired by CARNAGE range from Gil Scott Heron to clan of xymox as well. That week we also had a world radio premiere from Twin Cities-based rockers Empires of Delirium featuring contributions from Fargo's own Anomic. We'll hear more regional music from Jessica Vines & from John Janousek & Kary Janousek, plus new music from friends of the show like Jackie Venson, Krozover, & Cordelia. "Twin Peaks Day" was that week as well, & you'll hear Twin Peaks-inspired music by Xiu Xiu, Daniel Knox, and David Lynch & Angelo Badalamenti's own Thought Gang. We'll also hear music from the new Mogwai album, plus Low, Black Lab, & more!
