At the @essilorluxottica Switch event in Monaco, to which I was taken by EssilorLuxottica so I could learn about @oakleymeta.

But as well as being introduced to the Oakley Vanguard sports glasses, I also met this mechanical canine.

And I also sampled some Prada virtual reality glasses, where I had the weird experience of ‘attending’ the Prada AW26 menswear show in Milan virtually and seeing myself watching it IRL. Now that is Meta.

Thanks to @nickferman (pictured fetchingly enjoying Prada virtual world) for the invitation.

We don’t often hear men talk openly about burnout.

This week, I sat down with my husband to do exactly that: an honest conversation about what it feels like when work, pressure, and responsibility start taking more than they give.

He shared what burnout looked like behind the scenes:

The quiet exhaustion that crept in over time

The pressure to keep performing

The impact on his mood, motivation, and relationships

And what recovery is slowly starting to mean for him now

It wasn’t about fixing or giving advice: just naming what’s real.

Because sometimes that’s where recovery begins.

If you’re a professional who’s been “pushing through” for too long, this conversation might feel familiar.

🎥 Watch the full clip on my page.

💬 Let me know if it resonates: I’d love to hear your reflections.

Why invisible grief deserves space...

One thing I miss is my relationship before our daughter arrived.

We went out whenever we wanted. We didn’t have to negotiate time. We could do our hobbies without finding each other too annoying. We didn’t often argue about money.

We were more intimate. My body was just mine and not partly belonging to a child.

I feel sad for the loss of this part of our relationship. It can feel very functional now if we don’t work at it. We can be burnt out and more easily triggered. Things need more planning!

One thing that helps is accepting that this is unavoidably hard and giving ourselves more grace when we f*ck up.

Noticing our triggers, forgiveness, and the ability to stand back and reflect on what the hell just happened works wonders, but that's a skill that takes time to develop.

How have you changed since becoming a parent? Do you respond to your partner or loved ones differently? How are you triggered?

If you're grieving your past life why don't you contact me and we can talk about how I can help?
