POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

i wish i could keep it short and sweet (the videos🥹) but i really wasn’t made that way (except in body and personality, amirite?🥺)

This was summer 2023 to this 2026’s current summer - me across 4 of the homes I’ve lived in. 4 out of 10 in Lisbon. I’m always moving, going, changing, figuring things out, trusting God to take me somewhere better. Not all of these times were easy - in fact, these are some highlights from the most sorrowful moments in time but every time, music, my home and a safe space to be, and gathering with people, picked me up. Every time I look back at the videos I never got round to sharing and all the visions I didn’t see - couldn’t see - through, that’s what saddens me mist. That I stopped, for whatever reason - fear, circumstance, doubt. I have so much creativity in me that I’ll otherwise burst if I don’t let it out. So to everyone along the way that asked what I’m doing with all the videos, welllll finally, they’ll be coming your way 🤸🏽‍♀️🕺🏽

Is there anything worse than a European winter and anything better than a Euro summer?

I was born in South Africa’s December sun and I’m such a summer baby. I grew up in Johannesburg, so I’m definitely a city girl, but all I’ve ever wanted was to live by the water.

I started editing this last summer, but, you know, it’s that stop and start, that life is busy, that creativity takes time.

When I studied journalism, this is what I wanted to do. Well, I actually wanted to make documentaries and write books; but I wanted to tell stories and capture moments. I love that social media lets me look back and be like, “Oh, I did that,” or, “I love that person,” or, “I was there.” Memory keeping, archiving, documenting.

Last year, we got together in session with a bunch of people who just wanted to make music, and we made a few songs. This is one of them. The year before, we got together in the Oca studio sessions, and together we brought another song to life. It’s now called ‘Fire’

It’s gone through some changes, and it’s finally coming out on 8 August.

Listening back, I remembered how much I loved being in session - creating, freestyling, and seeing where the music took us.

For now, here’s a little bit of summer, this year and last. I’m so excited for and about this season and all the ones to come ☀️
