Excited to have seen this year’s wonderful production of Aristophanes’ Peace directed by Nikos Karathanos with my @cyathens Fall 2026 theater students! The play was set in a primitive era with War as a Gorilla and the protagonist Trygaius turned into the woman Trygaia. On the way back to earth and for Peace to be established Trygaia and her team must go by the Underworld to reconcile with the dead.

We were also delighted to have Eri Kyrgia, dramaturg for the performance, visit our class and enlighten us about the director’s choices and the latest approaches and trends for performing Aristophanes in Greece today. We are most grateful. 🙏
