It is with an extremely heavy heart that I have to say goodbye to one of my closest friends, Nick West.

Nick was an amazing person. Nick always made me feel important when I talked, he always made me smile from across the room with the little looks he gave me, he was the life of the party. He was always one of my top friends to invite to everything I did.
It breaks my heart that I’ll never get to have a drink with him again, I’ll never get to lose at call of duty to him again and blame the booze because of course there’s no way he would beat me sober (he would), I’ll never see him perform some of my favorite songs again and joke about wanting to “take you back to mine” with him again, and I’ll never get to tell him I love him again.
His memory lives on in his friends, the memories we’ve all formed with him, his songs, his jokes, his presence. I will remember him every day when I go to the gym without him, go camping without him, play drinking games without him, and play electric Jane without him saying he was hoping nobody would notice it was him singing, and us telling him that it was nothing to cringe over! He was one of my best friends, one of the friend I always wanted to tell first about the exciting things in my life.

I hope all of his hundreds of friends, and his family find peace in the fact that he was loved his whole life, and he knew it. Every night with his friends and family was a good one, if something went wrong, he fixed it. If he wasn’t there, we wished he was, but we knew he was busy having a good time with someone else. If Nick knew what would have happened, he would have spent his time telling us to live our lives in the best way possible, to live as happily as he has and to not let his passing dampen our good times, though it will.
His life may have been short but it was one that we all hope to live up to.

The world is truly a worse place without him in it.
And I’ll miss him forever.

What a year 2023 was. Another year of adventures, laughs and good times.

I managed to hit some all time lifting goals thanks to @hashtagcoachrob and @tfagym (355 squat, 405 deadlift, 220 bench)

I did an art gallery with my own prints and only have one left (in all honesty I didn’t think a single one would sell)

I did a couple roads trips, couple flights, and lots of times spent on the ferry, but somehow still felt like I wish I did more.

I rebranded my company to @stutter.studios and started stepping into a director role and have worked with some unreal people on set.

I went to 4 concerts, two of them being Blink 182 and Billy Talent. Now I just need to see Greenday and my inner rebellious teenager will be happy.

I got flown in my first Helicopter to a remote marine protected island, which was unreal.

I spent a lot of time in saunas and cold plunges, but seriously dropped off and need to do it more.

I watched a good friend of mine get married… finally @brewladjack

I finally took a vacation road tripping down the Oregon Coast where I wasn’t paid to shoot any content, which felt strange but also made the trip so enjoyable.

I still feel like there’s more I could have done this year, which makes me excited for 2024. Got some big plans and new goals to hit. I’ll be stoked to share them when I do 🤟🏻

Also enjoy the AI generated picture of me in a suit. Really encapsulated how this year left me feeling 🫡

Making Waves is premiering today on the Hallmark Channel. I'd have to say this set was definitely one of my favorites.
