Ran our first ever HOW-TO risograph drawing competition at @columbiagsapp . Over 2 sessions, students pooled libraries of AVERY ASSETS together, contemplated the readymade vs custom elements, and were asked to very rapidly create a single orthographic drawing showing HOW TO transform Avery Hall into another social/environmental situation… gardens, parties, kitchens, construction sites, spaces of rest anyone?
✏️✏️✏️
This is a sneak peak into the 6 winning students’ drawings: Celine @celinedastori , Anais @anais.mrchl , Wyatt @yy.sings , Oscar @oscar_kreft , Jialu @jialusun_ , Jorge @offgrid.dwg 👏

Printed these class souvenirs at @luckyrisograph this weekend, along with a bunch of AVERY ASSETS postcards! Ltd edition giveaway on 10/26 during ADR1 :D

🙏🙏🙏
With thanks to our fab instructors Ray Wang, @mariale.linares.t , @nickroseboro , @ekinbilal , and all our amazing TAs!! In particular huge thanks to @adam_wdavis for composing unwieldy assets into printworthy postcards 🔥

P.S. Riso DIY hours took me 4 hours to print calibrate and trim this stack of paper joy. If I can spend 4h on printing, you can spend at least 4h on drawing :p

Amaro means bitter.

It began as medicine. Monks and apothecaries steeped roots, bark and peel in alcohol to settle the stomach. Over time the tonics became family recipes, and many of those recipes stayed secret.

On Thursday, October 1st from 6pm to 8pm, Nick Roseboro @nickroseboro leads a tasting of his own botanical elixirs, made the same way: plants, alcohol, time.

Nick works as an educator, a designer and a musician. He makes elixirs with the same care: he combines ingredients, balances them, and builds each one layer by layer.
