A SILK-SPUN UNIVERSE OF PLAY- PRESS ▶️ PLAY
.
For anyone new here: DARN is a tiny one-woman brand run by me, Amelia. After years of pop-ups, events, collaborations, and even a dream supper club in Kenya, I’ve refined things down to what I love most: silk scarves (don’t worry cotton ones still exist)

I’m so excited to share a video of how each DARN scarf is made just for you. It’s easy to think it’s “just a square,” but there’s real craft behind it. I choose to produce in the UK, even when cheaper options land in my inbox daily, because it feels right, small batches, no waste, and supporting the makers and technicians whose skills I admire, to the care and detail that does into each hand rolled hem.

No mass production, no excess. Just thoughtful design, brilliant craftsmanship, and a pop of colour to brighten your day.

Here’s a peek behind the scenes in Macclesfield with submarine-like washing machines, giant buttons, and the silkiest process ever.
I hope you enjoy seeing part of the process, I sure did.

New podcast episode out! 🍎

It was a joy to spend the day with @someinterestingapples at their tasting trials at @kestle_barton, Cornwall. Some Interesting Apples gathered a group of apple experts, artists and academics to select wild-grown, chance-seedling apples for the Wilding Mother Orchard. In this episode, we hear about how each apple tree grown from seed produces a new variety, and how this may produce unique, delicious and climate-resilient apples for the future.

You can listen to this Found Sounds episode of @ffern.co’s podcast ‘As the Season Turns’ wherever you get your podcasts

Podcast episode made with production support from Catriona Bolt (@catreeona_)
