A special reel for these two special people!

30 today. And honestly, I didn’t see it coming like this.

My twenties didn’t go the way I planned. I mapped out achievement, milestones, a version of success that looked good on paper. What I got instead was something I didn’t even know I needed.

I got the people in this photo. Some of them I’ve known since before I could drive, friendships that started years ago but became something real and unshakeable in my twenties. Others I met somewhere in the middle of the decade, people I didn’t plan for but couldn’t imagine life without now. I got two dogs who, no exaggeration, have taught me more about patience and presence than most seasons of life ever did.

And I got my wife. I wasn’t out looking when God placed her in front of me, but the second I laid eyes on her I knew. No hesitation, no question. I still don’t fully understand how I got that blessed, but I know it wasn’t luck. That was God being intentional, generous, and far better to me than I deserved.

And underneath all of it, quietly, without me always noticing, I got a faith that finally has some real weight to it. Not inherited. Not surface level. Tested, questioned, and still standing.

Success looked different than I thought. Turns out it was better than what I would’ve asked for.

I’m grateful for everything God did in my twenties, even the parts that hurt, even the plans He said no to. And I’m more expectant than I’ve ever been about what He’s going to do through my thirties; not just for me, but for the people He puts in front of me.

Here’s to 30. 🤍
