I began this course with great enthusiasm right in the middle of the pandemic. However, the Shiatsu training I had already completed was not recognized; instead, I was required to take it again as “Shiatsu-1” and “Shiatsu-2.” Shortly after finishing that portion, my diabetes returned with overwhelming severity. Then came the bladder cancer. But, thank God, right in the midst of my treatments, He “threw me a lifeline”: I began teaching therapeutic massage classes from Monday through Thursday. My chemotherapy—which involved a medication administered via a catheter inserted through the urethra—was always scheduled for Fridays, allowing me to rest and recover on Saturdays and Sundays before returning to work on Monday. Although I was only able to endure this regimen for about fifteen sessions, I remain under close medical surveillance today through regular cystoscopies and CT scans. In the midst of all this, I learned that AMC had closed its doors permanently. The graduation ceremony for the Acupuncture and Massage College took place on July 31, 2022—the very same day my late brother, Ricky (may he rest in peace), was born. So, as the saying goes, “my dream wasn’t blue, but green—and a goat came along and ate it.” Consequently, I now practice Acupressure—rather than Acupuncture—drawing upon my knowledge of Tuina, Acupuncture, and Shiatsu. #GodFirst #NoemiHernandezZamora #ThankGod #Acupressure #Shiatsu
Yes, and I would like these stories of mine to serve others who are facing challenges, because God never lets go of us.
