Quartermaster of the ship, working quietly and tirelessly in the background, with Captain of the #pirates, Sue Frumin, to get "Raising the Wreck-Revisited!" on the road, is Hayley Cartwright @hayleycartwright

Hayley is from Preston, and is an actor, voice over artist and director- working in all genres for numerous years.

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were little Hayley's inspirations, and at 5, she knew that she wanted to act. But growing up in a non thespian family (although she has since found out that her Grandad's family were related to the fabulous actor, Rita Webb!), finding out how to begin her chosen path wasn't easy. At 6, she started classes in Ballroom, Latin American and Old Time dance, and even competed in competitions- even coming second in the North West for Old Time Dance, aged 14. Thankfully when she was 13, Preston Youth Theatre opened its doors! Preston Youth Theatre and Preston Playhouse will always be in her heart. Later, Hayley won a scholarship to train at Drama school in repertory theatre.

In the many years since then, she has enjoyed working on diverse projects both on stage and screen. including: 'Coronation Street' (ITV), 'Cold Feet' (ITV), Ellen Wilkinson in 'Ellen's Longest Night' (Library Theatre/Peterloo Festival), Mary Quaile in 'Dare to be Free' (The Lowry/Roundabout), Lesley in 'Talking Heads' (London theatres), Lisa the crazy reiki healer in 'Up the Bunting' (GMF and The Viaduct), and Donna in 'Magic Hands' (CBeebies).

Hayley is the founder of #TheGold DiggaScruffz (known for The Silent Meow) and the co-founder of #TheLipstickThespians.

Outside of the industry (sort of!), Hayley also sat on The Equity Greater Manchester and Region General Branch @equitymanc for nine years. Six of these years, as the Diversity rep, helping to make positive changes for the benefit of members.

Hayley can not wait to get into the rehearsal room, as Mary Read, leaving the organising of the project behind!

It was a real pleasure to be a part of Caught Up and to celebrate its premiere with such a talented cast and crew.

A huge thank you to Aeman and Ali for having me involved in such an important project, and to everyone behind the scenes who made it happen. It was brilliant to work with a team so committed to telling this story with honesty and authenticity.

Caught Up shines a light on the reality of criminal exploitation and how easily young people can be drawn into situations far beyond their control. It’s a powerful reminder of why stories like this matter and I hope it helps start important conversations.
