Nicole P. Bell and Gwen Carr, two Black women who have unfortunately endured the pain of state sanctioned violence, continue to fight to end systemic violence. It is truly an honor for my brother Andre "Word" and I to stand with them in this fight.

Nicole Paultre Bell is a Social Justice Advocate, author, film producer, and public speaker who turned personal tragedy into policy change and community empowerment. In 2006, her fiancé, Sean Bell, was killed by undercover NYPD officers on what would have been their wedding day, a tragedy that drew national attention to police accountability. Nicole adopted Sean's name and legacy and built a career dedicated to justice, accountability, and community empowerment.
She founded the nonprofit When It's Real It's Forever, which created the Sean Bell Little League, the Know Your Rights Summit, and the annual Sean Bell Family Day - a community event offering back-to-school giveaways, voter registration, and free legal advice from vendors. The nonprofit translated grief into community investment. She was a driving force behind the NYPD policy requiring breathalyzer tests for officers involved in shootings, and in 2021 she testified before the United Nations' International Commission of Inquiry on systemic policing. She serves on the advisory committee of Roc Nation's United Justice Coalition and the advisory council of the Queens District Attorney's Office.
Nicole teaches audiences how to reclaim their narrative, convert pain into purpose, and step into the full authority of their own voice. In 2025, she produced "Aftershock: The Nicole P. Bell Story", and her memoir will be published by Random House in May 2027. Nicole Paultre Bell stands for one idea across every arena she enters: that even in the face of profound injustice, we can build purpose, strategy, and lasting change for the next generation.
