Visited a little piece of Canadian TV history! 🇨🇦📺

We stopped by the REAL Kim’s Convenience on Queen Street West in Toronto! 🏪❤️ As huge fans of the show, this was such a cool spot to finally see in person.

My wife and I have started rewatching @kimsconvenience. If you’ve never seen it, you owe it to yourself to check it out. It’s on Netflix and @cbcgem - It’s a Canadian television comedy that follows a Korean-Canadian family running a convenience store in Toronto featuring @angryappa @andrewphung @simuliu @jeanyoon88 @andrea.bang and @nicoleppower.

It absolutely ranks in the top five of my fav shows. #kimsconvenience #turkeyturkeytaco #sneakattack #okseeyou

Finally available again on Netflix Canada 🎥

Now and then, you'll find a show that doesn’t depend on shocking twists or high-stakes drama to keep viewers engaged. Instead, it captivates with its warmth, humour, and relatable family moments. Kim’s Convenience is precisely that kind of series: a feel-good Canadian comedy that truly celebrates family, culture, and community.

Set around a family-run convenience store, the series follows Korean-Canadian parents Mr and Mrs Kim and their grown children, Jung and Janet. In quick 20-minute episodes, audiences get a look into their daily lives as they manage work, family expectations, faith, and the occasional clash between traditional values and modern ideas.

Created by Canadian playwright Ins Choi and inspired by his own upbringing, the show authentically and heartfeltly reflects the immigrant experience. One central storyline examines the strained relationship between Jung and his father, caused by a troubled past that drove them apart. Meanwhile, Janet strives to live on her own terms, despite her mother’s efforts to set her up with church-going Christian men.

With five engaging seasons, Kim’s Convenience achieves a perfect mix of humour and emotion. It’s a series that will make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings, and foster appreciation for imperfect families. If you’re seeking wholesome binge-worthy content, this Netflix favourite deserves a spot on your list.
