Thank you @headcreeps._ for alerting me to the fact that it’s Black Cat Appreciation Day 🖤🐈‍⬛

Black cats are one of the hardest to adopt, with reasons such as them being bad luck, to them being hard to photograph for your social media 🫠 🙄

But let me tell you some folklore I’ve heard about black cats in my time;

🐈‍⬛ Black cats are very good luck. If one chooses you then you are protected

🐈‍⬛ In Scotland, a stray black cat on your doorstep is a sign of prosperity

🐈‍⬛ In the 13th century, Pope Gregory IX issued an official church document called “Vox in Rama.” In the document, he proclaimed that black cats were an incarnation of Satan.

🐈‍⬛ In Italy, if you hear a black cat sneeze you will have good luck

🐈‍⬛ If you stroke a black cat three times, whisper your wish to the black cat, and don’t tell anyone, it will come true

🐈‍⬛ Keeping a black cat on your ship ensures safe passage

🐈‍⬛ In Japan and the UK, a black cat crossing your path brings good luck

Tell me some folklores you’ve heard about black cats, or show me your black cat in the comments! 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛
