Sunday Funday!

Wk23... Tankerton Velo (not a club) want to go on their first group trip over a weekend... Brugges it is, with the route being accessible to all and the required beer stops are plenty!

It rained, a Flanders welcome!

My favourite bakery in Veurne

Not quite the day for cream shoes

Live obstacles

The grey clouds are a theme

Wooden slats on a corner... Squeaky bum time!

Back at the @hotelvelotel

Some blue sky and no wind in the flags

The best cycling route to leave Brugges

Bumped into the local tractor meet

One last stop before the ferry

Week 22 - coming up with the idea of having a long weekend riding in Belgium, a bunch of mates said "great idea". Bikepack to Brugge for 2nights at @hotelvelotel with a middle day being a coffee/lunch stop @barbidongent. Getting away on bikes with mates is always good fun

I love having France on the doorstep...
Leaving the home on the bike with @tonyperkos we rode to Dover ready for the weekend. Sharing a castaway beer with @colliewalsh99 on his way to explore, and meeting others starting their own stories on their bikes.
Arriving at the campsite, the beers flowed and friends started to catch up, seeing friendly faces over dinner.
A rooster rudely woke us for a locally organised 100km sportive, over an area south over Calais that is not flat! They then rewarded us with a baguette and a beer.
With lunch done, time to ride back to the port for the return trip home. Landing in Kent, it was a sunset ride back towards Canterbury.

@gloriousgravel putting on another great sportive earning me another wooden medal. The weather was much dryer than expected, making the route much more enjoyable.
Riding around Salisbury we didn't see an active tank but did find one to sit on!
Riding @rose_bikes in the UK, it always gets compliments as it is now somewhat rare nowadays. Paired with @scribecycling wide wheels makes it unstoppable!

The end of 2024 (pt2). Riding through orchards to hunting down pubs in chinos. Celebrating @dan_eaglestone birthday/Egypt escape and my dad entering his 70s. Solo day trip around the Isle of Wight to taking a group to Brugges. Highlight being @leblanq.tour Ibiza enjoying riding around the island and exquisite partying in the evening.

A great weekend riding to Bruges taking some of Tankerton Velo Club to follow the canals there, then the countryside back. Some great stops for food & drink and overnight at the Velotel is always the best option.

A new adventure... The Rebellion Way (Norfolk) created by @wearecyclinguk. Nothing overly challenging and a great way to introduce any riding to bikepacking. Various terrains to keep it interesting.
