“Abstract Expressionist Painting 40”
Nigel Waters, Acrylic On Canvas, 2025

“Abstract Expressionist Painting 40 is an abstract inspired by the the coast and the sea. The painting was started en plein air and then finished in the studio. I have used vibrant fauvist style colours. The painting is framed in a white wood tray frame and has been exhibited at the Penwith Gallery St Ives Associate Members Spring Exhibition 2026. The work is inspired by the abstract expressionist artists and St Ives Modernist Artists.”

The best night playing at Chelsey Pettyjohn’s collage nite @hideousthings in her residency studio space @porthmeorstudios ✂️ surrounded by an abundance of amazing inspiration from her processes, pieces and essence. The sound of ripping paper, scent of magazines, chit chat with the group and 90’s rock soundtrack. Can’t wait to be back for Chelsey’s residency exhibition Uphill Oracle from Sat 25th July to see the final pieces. Electric paintings my god⚡️thanks for a great play @hideousthings 💗

Exmouth Arts Weekend, 2026 🎨

Exmouth Art Weekend launched this year, shining a spotlight on the incredible creativity happening here every day.

Although it was slightly rainy, it didn't stop the range of creativity and I was able to capture a range of artwork being created on the day and at an exhibition at the Imperial Hotel.

Here's just a small selection 📸

🖤 'Black & White' exhibition (post 1 of 2) 🤍

Fronteer Gallery is delighted to present 'Black and White', a group exhibition featuring 40 UK based artists.

Utilising black and white is a strong and striking artistic decision, and this exhibition is a celebration of what happens when artists cast aside colour in order to focus on composition, form, tone, light and texture.

You can catch 'Black and White' until 11th April. We will be open 11-4 Tuesdays - Thursdays and 2.15 - 5.15 Saturdays.

Feel free to DM me with any sales enquiries and, as ever, if you're an artist and I haven't tagged you in this post, let me know!
