Meet our next model, @tattoosbychauncey.

At 27, he works as an industrial mechanic during the week and pursue tattooing during evenings and weekends. He began my career as a mechanic at 18 and discovered tattooing several years later, around the age of 25. Both careers have allowed him to work with his hands and create something tangible.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with the people he loves while staying creative, active, and productive. Painting, drawing, riding his motorcycle, and simply slowing down to enjoy some quiet time are some of the ways he recharges.

For him, tattoos are a form of personal expression. He sees them much like customizing a car or painting a room in your home—it’s your space, and you should have the freedom to make it reflect who you are. Every tattoo carries a story, whether it’s something funny and simple or a more personal glimpse into someone’s life and identity.

He’s always been drawn to art because of the way it can make the world more meaningful and beautiful to experience. Tattooing gives him the opportunity to contribute to that while helping people express parts of themselves that might not always be visible at first glance.

Our next model, @theartandmind
A seven-year U.S. Navy veteran, Jared began his tattoo journey during his time in the service. With each port came a new experience—and often, a new tattoo. Many of the tattoos he carries today were earned through experiences and memories made overseas.
Today, Jared works at Embrace North, a sauna and cold-plunge wellness facility, while pursuing his Fine Arts education at Century College. His ultimate goal is to turn his passion for art and tattooing into a career.
Beyond the tattoos is a veteran, an artist, a student, and someone building a future around his creativity and experiences.
This is the person behind the ink—reminding us that a tattoo may tell a story, but it never tells the whole story.

Meet our next model, Devin Walters.
Devin is a 35-year-old husband, new father, and the owner and operator of Twin Cities Bug Guy. He began getting tattooed at 17 and started stretching his ears at 13.
For Devin, tattoos and body modifications are a form of self-expression—a way to customize himself, stand out, and embrace what makes him unique. Outside of work and family life, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and all things automotive.
Like many heavily tattooed individuals, Devin knows that appearances often lead to assumptions. But beyond the ink is a dedicated family man, successful business owner, and hardworking member of his community. His story is a reminder that tattoos don’t define a person’s character—their actions do.

Our first subject is Ben Woehrle, who was one of the biggest inspirations behind this project. I’ve beenfriends with Ben for years, and he’s genuinely one of the kindest people I know. He’s successful, highlyeducated, and heavily tattooed.
To me, Ben is the perfect example of why tattoos havenothing to do with a person’s intelligence, character, or potential. He works in the white collar corporate world as a Construction Contracting Officer of Veteran Affairs, and he challenges many of the stereotypes and snap judgments people still make about tattooed individuals, and that’s exactly why I wanted to include him in this project.

Hey guys, me and my good friend @night_trenches_ are starting a new project I’m excited about called Ink≠Identity.

I’ve spent a lot of time around people with tattoos, and one thing I’ve noticed is how often we’re judged before anyone gets to know us.

This series features my friends and people I know who are heavily tattooed. It explores the gap between the stereotypes people still hold and the reality of who these people are.

Tattoos and body modification aren’t something to fear or judge. They’re a personal expression of identity, creativity, and lived experience. My hope is that these portraits encourage people to look beyond the ink and see the person first.

We will be debuting our first model on Friday morning.

If you’re interested in being a part of this and want studio photos for your self and the project, please comment or shoot me a message.

This is Ink≠Identity

I just finished “Infernum”, a sci-fi novel that takes place hundreds of years in the future where AI take on sentient forms and advance into “The Collective”, a combined electronic consciousness that’s like the Cloud 🚀 👾. However, The Collective and Humanity are at odds, and there’s a race to this planet with a resource that is so close to a black hole, anyone going to the planet passes through Deformed Space no one has returned from. The planet, Infernum, is a super cool, Earth-adjacent place, and the story is more about the world building of future technology and a planet viable for life ✨.

This is the kind of sci-fi I love, like “Out of the Silent Planet”. It’s about a new place, exploration, and relationship development, rather than a space opera concentrated on war themes and meta narratives. It’s a niche close to my heart because I would love to soak up every second of a planet completely different from Earth, but similar enough for humans to live and breathe on. Enough about the wars over power and bloodshed ❌, I get enough of that at home. Show me a never-before-done vision that casts you into inquisitiveness, challenging your imagination and sprinkle in a bit of hope. I’ve also loved Hail Mary, Dungeon Crawler Carl (Earth but not Earth), and the first Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
📖
Any book recommendations for something like this? 🤔
