They took the expansive rounded fireplace as their muse and landed on the idea of creating a modern Zen sanctuary with Brazilian treehouse vibes. How I Spent My Summer Vacation… Maybe not vacation but over August, I spent my weekends having a love affair in Roxbury, CT. In a very odd twist of fate, I found myself working on the neighbors house down the block from an estate that we had worked on a few months before, as if by magic I met these owners in the city and in passing conversation with the family we discovered that I was working on their neighbors house. The next thing you know… I so enjoyed my time in Connecticut I took at as a sign to head back and work on this magical house. Creatively I loved the challenge of a different style of home, it was an opportunity to explore new ideas and mix traditionalism and modernity in a more relaxed (and larger setting). What really captivated me was the early morning drive up to the house, no traffic and 2 hours later I was transported to another world. Quieter, softer, expanses of green space out every window. This idea of fueled the design direction and especially the photo shoot. Light pouring in through open windows, hydrangeas, bursting outside, taking breaks to explore the property. @hayleyellenday worked on capturing those fresh air moments so we can show people what it would be like to breathe easier in this light filled home surrounded by acres of green. All while moving at a furious pace working around painters and contractors. Every weekend was a dance, as they finished a room, I came in Tasmanian devil style with furniture and art and quickly transforming each room and honing in on the intimacy of each space. well, I may not have had a proper vacation this summer. Sourcing Simplified (Save this post) 🪄 A lot of the questions I I get over DM or where did you find this? How do I find that? How do I get one of those for my home? Over the last few months have been building out @shopmy pages for all of our projects as well as categories of all my favorite pieces. 15 Hudson yards is one of our favorite projects this year. A spectacular home, but it was an opportunity to warm up a white box with art and paint and wallpaper and so many special pieces loads of art and heavily texture object, objects that add a sense of comfort to the home. The space designed itself very quickly as we were so eager to dive in. I had my eye on the new @crateandbarrel collection by @nightpalm & @lauraharrier. A collection retro glam that hooks back to Hollywood Regency with hints of Art Deco That collection was the driver in the primary bedroom suite was then carried through the rest of the home with a collection of some of my favorite pieces that I’ve been collecting for decades.
