****NIHUNG SANTHIA CALENDAR OFFICIAL RELEASE IN UK & CANADA THIS SUNDAY**** Saadhsangat Ji we are pleased to announce that the Nihung Santhia Calendar will be available in Toronto, Canada at the Hola Mahalla Jorr Mela organised by Dal Panth Toronto alongside the Hola Mahalla Jorr Mela at Gurdwara Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib, Coventry this Sunday (24th March 2019). This year, Nihung Santhia have printed 550 calendars to pay homage to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 550th Gurpurab. The calendar contains frescos from Gurdwara Baba Atal Sahib Ji, Amritsar depicting the ‘Baal Leela’ (wondrous childhood) of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Alongside each of the frescos, will be supporting quotes from Gurbani and Sri Guru Nanak Parkash Granth (written by Mahakavi Bhai Santokh Singh Ji). This calendar Nihung Santhia covers dates from Cheth (Mid-March) 2019 till Cheth 2020. The Calendar is based on the Puratan Bikrami Calendar, with the traditional Sampardaee accepted dates, and filtered over with the modern Gregorian calendar for easy referencing. The Calendar gives the traditional Khalsa dates for all Gurpurabs along with Shaheedi Divas, Sangrand, Pooranmashi, Massia and other Sikh Festivals. ▫️

Lakh Lakh Vadhai to the Saadhsangat on the Avtar Purab of Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji. Satguru Ji took Parkash on Vaisakh Sudi 1, 1561 Bikrami (1504 AD) at Matteh Di Saraa – Sri Sarai Naanga Sahib, now Sri Angandpur Sahib Ji, District Faridkot. Below we have shared some of Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale’s writings in honour of Sri Guru Anand Dev Ji from their poetic work ‘Sri Gurmukh Parkash’:
The formless took the form of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in order to save the burning world. Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji, forever ‘ang-sang’ to Guru Nanak Dev Ji spread the ‘Amrit Naam’.34.

The joth (light) inside both was one, the formless Vaheguru took form through Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Angad Dev Ji. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji were the very form of Vaheguru, the form of peace and continuous bliss.35.
Bhai Pheru Ji who did intense meditation was Guru Ji’s Father, and Mata Sabhraee Ji was Guru Ji’s mother. Guru Ji took Avtaar in 1561 Bikrami, on Vaisaakh Sudi 1. 36.

Sant Ji goes on to explain how after intense seva and tests Bhai Lehna Ji gained the complete happiness of Guru Nanak Dev Ji:

Bhai Lehna Ji served Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji for many years offering his mind, body and wealth, the loving devotion of Bhai Lehna was pleasing to Guru Ji.

The Joth (light) was the same and the Jugat (technique) was the same, Guru Nanak Dev Ji just changed their body to Bhai Lehna Ji and named them Guru Anand (meaning limb).
Guru Anand Dev Ji was sat on the throne of the Gurgadhi and became the master of the whole creation, with the permission of Guru Nanak Dev Ji they compiled the Pauris of Jap Ji Sahib into order.

Lakh Lakh Vadhaian to all the Saadhsangat on the Purab of Hola Mahalla. Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj initiated this festival at Sri Holgarh Sahib (Sri Anandpur Sahib), on Cheth Vadhee Ekam 1757 Bikrami. Guru Sahib alongside the festivities of Hola, used this time to gear his Sikhs towards Shastar Vidhya. The Sikhs immersed themselves in the colour of love for Gurbani by sitting in the Saadhsangat. Changing the ancient tradition of ‘holi’ to ‘hola’ Guru Sahib said the immortal words recorded in Gurpadh Prem Parkash by Baba Sumer Singh, ‘ਔਰਨ ਕੀ ਹੋਲੀ ਮਮ ਹੋਲਾ ॥’ (for others it is Holi, for me it is Hola). Mahakavi Bhai Santokh Singh Ji has beautifully described the scene of Hola Mahalla in Sri Gurpartap Suraj Granth:

In Guru Ji’s Darbar Sikhs came in large numbers full of bliss.
All around the city the Guru’s Langar was running non-stop; the Sikhs would eat where they pleased.
From all four directions thousands of Sikhs had gathered in Anandpur Sahib for Hola Mahalla.
Those on whose forehead good fortune was written were colored in the color of the Guru’s love. 4.

The Rababs and Pakhawaj (drums) were being played with great enthusiasm.
The Raags and Raagnis of Gurbani were sung so beautifully it was as if the very manifestations of them raags had come and stood in front of the sangat.
In the way that the demi-Gods in happiness meet each other in heaven.
Similarly, The Guru’s Sikhs are in a state of extreme happiness lining up to gain the glimpse of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. 5.

Lakh Lakh Vadhai to the Sadhsangat on Sri Guru Har Rai Ji's Avtar Purab! Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji took parkash at Sri Kiratpur Sahib on Magh Sudi 14, 1687 Bikrami (1630 AD). 'Sri Gurmukh Parkash' is a poetic work written by Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, describing the life story of Sant Giani Sundar Singh Ji. At the beginning of this Granth, Sant Ji very beautifully describes the lives of the Das Guru Sahiban in poetic form. The below quote is from Chapter 7, the life of Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji:

"Sri Guru Har Rai Ji arose at 2 am every morning, and did ishnaan with 101 gaagar (pitchers) of water. They wore a ‘jaama’ (chola) with 100 kaliya (hems), following the teachings of Sri Guru Hargobind Ji they held on to it while they walked (to make sure their chola didn't break any flowers/plants while walking.) Sri Guru Har Rai Ji always had 2200 horsemen tyaar bar tyaar (ready to fight) with them. While hunting, animals would run towards them looking to get liberated, Guru Ji would take them alive. Guru Ji sustained these animals by feeding them fodder in specially made gardens; in their compassionate nature they would catch deer from their horns using a rope, rather then hurt them. Guru Ji remained ever absorbed in the Creator; they never abandoned their tranquil state. In their lifetime Guru Sahib completed 125,000 Japji Sahib Jaaps 5 times, and daily did 100 Japji Sahib for 18 years." (Chapter 7, Page 47, Sri Gurmukh Parkash, Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Jee Bhindranwale)
