POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
The difference between an athlete who gets noticed and one who gets overlooked often comes down to how they train—not just how hard they work.

Athletes want better performance. Parents want a smarter path to development. Coaches want training that translates to the field. This Wednesday, I’m going LIVE with Texas Longhorns Athletic Performance Coach Isaiah Gonzales to break down what it really takes to develop at the highest level.

We’re breaking down:

Strength and weight training.
Speed development.
Nutrition and recovery.
How athletes gain muscle correctly.
What college coaches look for.
What it takes to perform at the highest level.

No motivational fluff. Real information from someone developing athletes inside one of college football’s premier programs.

“I’m an athlete now.”

When I was in high school, I had all the potential in the world to become a great athlete. I trained hard because I wanted to perform on Friday nights.

There were college athletes I looked up to, @0ne0fone , @jforsett @thehawk87 . My dad had season tickets to Cal football, and I would come to the games wearing my jersey. I could see myself on that field one day, playing alongside those guys.

Cal wanted to offer me a full scholarship, but they told me I wouldn’t qualify academically.

The truth is, I knew what needed to be done.

My teachers and administrators sat me down and showed me exactly which classes I needed to complete to become eligible for that scholarship.

I understood it.

I just didn’t want to put in the effort.

That’s hard to admit, but it’s the truth.

I was committed to becoming a great football player, but I wasn’t committed to becoming a complete athlete. I trained for Friday nights, but I didn’t approach the classroom with that same discipline.

That’s why mentorship matters to me.

I didn’t need another person to tell me what classes I needed to take. I needed someone who had already walked that path to help me understand what was really at stake. Someone I looked up to. Someone who could have challenged me, held me accountable, and helped me see beyond the decision I was making in that moment.

Would that conversation have changed my decision?

I’ll never know.

But another high school athlete shouldn’t have to wonder.

Through All League, young athletes will be able to connect with college, current professional, and former professional athletes who understand what they’re navigating because they’ve lived it.

Imagine having a conversation with the athlete you look up to, someone with a similar story who can help you see where your decisions may lead before you have to live with them.

Sometimes the information is already there.

What changes everything is who it comes from.
