Footloose has opened, and I’m still catching my breath.

Casting this one asked more of me than I ever expected. It was hard. I keep returning to something we say in our community agreements at the start of rehearsal: “It’s hard because it’s hard, not because you’re not good.”

I’m deeply proud of the company that came together. Getting to sit in the audience and watch their work meet a room full of people was something special.

Stephen Mear directed and choreographed this production. Somewhere along the way, a collaborator became a friend. That may be the part I’ll carry longest. ♥️

To this company: congratulations. You made all that work look wonderfully easy, which is a fairly rude thing to do. 😋

If you’re in Milwaukee, go see them. Footloose plays @milwrep through November 1. 🪩
