So this is us (from left to right in the pictures).

I’m Eline. I’m a teacher and a complete art and design enthusiast. I’m a collector at heart and I love surrounding myself with things that make me happy. I’m all about what I call meaningful maximalism. To me, this means layering objects, colours, artworks and personal touches in a way that feels expressive and authentic, not just for the sake of excess.

Nikki is my wife. She’s a communications manager and freelance graphic designer & illustrator, so visual thinking is very much part of both of our everyday lives. Nikki’s also closely involved in the creative process here and happily steps in front of the camera for photos and videos, so you’ve probably seen quite a bit of her on this account.

And then there’s Abel. He’s six, endlessly curious and wonderfully imaginative, with a particular fascination for sea creatures, numbers and pretty much anything he can learn about. He’s also incredibly funny and witty. Swipe for some of his lovely drawings displayed on his own “gallery wall”.

I took these pictures in our creative space, a place that truly belongs to all three of us. It’s a space for making, experimenting, collecting and simply being together.

Another design appreciation post! I discovered this piece by @pepijndegreef. For the ZETSE stool, he used the shape of an old milk funnel and reworked it in recycled plastic.

There’s some great thinking behind it, transforming something familiar and functional into something completely new, without losing what made the original form work in the first place.

It’s a good example of what draws me to playful design: clever concept aside, it’s just a fun piece to look at.

Some changes in our creative studio!
We wanted the space to function less like a finished interior and more like an active environment: a place where work, collecting, creativity and daily life continuously overlap.
The new table by @theminimonoproject became the centre of the space. I did not only fall for the bold colours, but I also love the idea of circular production as something visible rather than hidden. The tabletop is made from recycled HDPE, which has this soft but also slightly imperfect texture. This matches so well with my preference for interiors that remain slightly unresolved and for objects that carry traces of use, displacement, repetition and time. Very happy with how this turned out! I’m sure this new set-up will keep the creativity flowing. Swipe for the vibe! And as you can see our son is a big fan already ☺️
Ps: Excited that the first pieces of the palm tree project, which was a co-creation of my wife and me, are finally hanging on our wall!
