I am accepting new dog walking and animal care clients south of South Street and East of 25th Street! My positive reinforcement based philosophy, surrounding animal care, is focused around compassion, communication and trust. My behavior walks and enrichment visits are all about relationship building and making sure your animals and I are having a blast through the process! While I mostly work with dogs, I love and respect ALL animals; and am available to care for all of them!

I’ve worked in the local animal care industry since 2009 (over 16 years!) - in dog daycares, rescues, animal salons, shadowing and learning from different trainers and vets, while attending dog behavior and socialization enrichment workshops. I spent 7 years working on almost all sides of the industry, in diverse environments, working with animals of all behaviors, under many different experienced professionals before branding myself and starting a company in 2016.

In 2016, I started a company called The Dog Enthusiast, which quickly became a success - with a team of 20 animal care specialists that executed a total average of 120 visits a day. When Covid hit, what was expected to be a temporary shut down, resulted in me permanently downsizing the company to just myself. I did away with the branding in 2021 and have been marketing my name ever since.

If you would like to apply for my services, please EMAIL mazzcardone@gmail.com, and I will respond asap. Last time I made a post, positions were filled quickly, so I will also be reaching back out to anyone that missed out on previous openings. I look forward to hearing from you!

‘Better than Disneyland’: The last days of an upstate supper club

On Sunday, Nov. 12, Kozel’s Restaurant — a beloved family-owned steakhouse on Route 9H in Ghent — celebrated its last day after 87 years in business. Hundreds of longtime and new customers came through the doors to honor the legacy of a restaurant built for and around the community.

“When you come here, every person that walks through those doors, you know,” said Donna Keeler, a lifetime customer. “It takes you forever to leave this place at night. Could be three to four hours after you eat, just mingling with people because everybody is friends. It’s the happiest place. It’s better than Disneyland.”
