23 September 2026, 05:22. Ibiza.
Orion rising over the island.

@nikoneurope D810 · @zeisscameralenses Distagon 35mm f/1.4 · f/8 · ISO 1250 · 2 and 5 sec · tripod

A few long exposures. Just stars.

Back home I pushed the contrast of the dark sky. And a pattern appeared: rings, spokes, a grid at the centre. Perfectly symmetrical, hidden in the darkness. The same in every frame.

It reminded me of cymatics: sand on a metal plate, set vibrating by sound.

My camera was on a tripod, 50 cm above the ground, for a few seconds.

Does anyone know how this can happen?

Photographers, physicists, dreamers: I’m curious what you think? 👇

A round mandala-like shape: a square grid of dots at the centre, about twenty spokes radiating outward, a circular rim and rings beyond it, curving into arcs at the top and bottom. It resembles a cymatic pattern of sound in water.

Capturing this magnificent Western Marsh Harrier in flight was such a special moment. There’s something truly incredible about watching these powerful birds in their natural element. 🤎

One of those moments I’ll never forget. ✨

Investing money on boring gear.

It may not be fancy and shiny, but investing in timecode has been an absolute game changer when filming for a golf channel. The time it's saved now with edits is a game changer and not having to worry about waveform syncing is a thing of the past.
