If you didn’t already know, I’m helping Kesem return to in-person camp after COVID forced them to go virtual for the past two years. My first year as a counselor was in 2012, and I’ve been reflecting on how much this organization has impacted me over the past decade. I’ve met the most incredible people on this Earth. I’ve seen children show strength and wisdom beyond their years. I’ve watched my campers grow into wonderful young adults. I’ve made countless memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I’ve seen the magic of Kesem heal wounds and soften grief, including my own.   Of course, I’ve faced some difficult challenges and made my fair share of mistakes. I’ve had numerous breakdowns and learned plenty of life lessons. I’ve been overwhelmed, stressed, and exhausted. But even after 10 years, Kesem is still teaching me how to be a better person, a more effective leader, and a more compassionate friend. It has been the most cathartic and rewarding experience of my life and it is hands down the most meaningful thing I’ve been a part of. To celebrate 10 years of magic, here’s a 10 photo highlight reel of Apollo’s journey through Kesem. If you’re interested in helping us get back on our feet after the pandemic, please reach out. There are many ways you can help spread the magic of Kesem. @kesem @kesemberkeley @kesem_usc @kesem_uwashington #KesemMagic
