Tandem Rescate Instructors Mitchell Sasser, Nathaniel Simms and Nila Bias delivered the Crossline Reach Workshop with combined Grade 4-5 Swiftwater Rescue Training by implementing Light Weight Inflatables with Long Line in-Flow progression and Remote Vectoring Efficiency for Fast Attack Access in Airway Time.

A whole bunch of photos from this summer- mostly not from the big rafting missions, although that was the highlight. The rafting community is my favorite thing in the world, and it’s bittersweet to be transitioning into fall.

I got to show my littlest brother the joy of a fun lap, bought a new (old) manual truck, learned that I love swimming holes, watched some great sunsets, played in the ocean for the first time, pushed my progression harder than rookie guide Izzy could have dreamed of, while feeling like I’ve just scratched the surface of the potential @kharimelhuish and I could hit R2ing. It’s not always easy- learning to drive a manual is driving me crazy- but it’s a damn good time!

Highlights from the North Fork rendevous! @izzybertram_ and I got to run a lower 7 and an upper 5, excited to try and get the full top to bottom next year! Huge thanks to @sotaronthewater for letting us use a boat! Thank you to @gregbabikoff for organizing such an awesome event! The whitewater was amazing and the entire crew was fantastic! Can't wait to run it back in 2027!

Drone Overwatch of Long Line Live Boat Reach system deployed from River left road side with no rescuers for assist on river right into Kern River Class V for Fast Attack Access to midstream pick-offs and/or entrapment sites. Remote anchors provide lateral vectoring for the operator to reach the target.

The opening rapid on the upper five is a long one. It took us about 9 minutes top to bottom of almost entirely consistent whitewater. The Puma handled it all but I realized that I definitely need to work on my cardio for this run

Jaws, Class V, North Fork Payette 🦈

Stepped up to the Lower 7 this year and it was a sick last lap of the Rendezvous. Jaws is about a mile long and the entire rapid is about 8 minutes of continuous footage, so I can only show the main drops (Jaws 1, 2, and 3). Needless to say a mile of continuous Class V boogie is about as FUN AS IT GETS!

This year we all pushed it and get new sections done that we haven’t done previously. Lower 7 is a SICK run, and Screaming Left is a crazy awesome rapid. Footage of the main parts of Jaws coming soon!

Shoutout to @gregbabikoff for setting up this awesome event every year and for leading the charge down the firehose of a river that is the NORTH FORK PAYETTE! Until next year ✌️
