Boxing is quite the sport to photograph. But a training session is a bit different. You get that inside feel of the grittiness it takes to step into the ring and the tough training it requires to prepare for battle.

I was focusing on capturing candid emotion shots as well as action moments throughout @nileg_ training camp for the Chicago Golden Gloves. I wanted to document this training session truly how it felt in @ubcgym a lower wacker boxing gym in the heart of downtown Chicago.

It was extremely lowlight in the gym so I stuck with my low aperture lenses of @sigmaphoto 85mm 1.4 and @sonyalpha 16mm 1.8.

What do you think of these shots and this POV? Let me know in the comments ⬇️

Getting a genuine smile on a photoshoot is a must! A nice posed smile photo is great but having your client actually laugh and show true emotion feels totally different in the image ‼️
