Meditation Teacher Training (MTT) at Alchemy Ubud 📿
Completely blew my mind away..

The quality of content and teaching from @yogawithashton and @julieyogatravel was absolutely world-class and this was such an eye-opening learning experience for me diving deep into the world of Kashmir Shaivism. We dived into Pranayama, Mantra, Mythical Stories, Yantra and so much more.. there is still so much for me to integrate and what a humbling and heartwarming experience this was

One of the highlights was of course the friendships made, connections forged and the power of Kula: simply sharing time and presence with likeminded likehearted souls was so so nourishing for me. Simply being in the company of this amazing group of people everyday for 2 weeks geeking out about Nondual Shaiva Tantra philosophies and practices brought me so much joy. And special shoutout to the Beads & Bhajans lunchtime crew.. gobbling down our lunches so that we have time to sing and chant before afternoon class starts 🤣

I’m gonna miss this so much, but also I know that this isn’t the end but rather a beginning of a new chapter. So much more to learn, practice and explore. So much gratitude for this tradition and the teachers who continue to share it passionately. So much love and gratitude for the community and friends who pursue this path together ❤️

I feel extremely blessed to be able to receive 300 hours of training from @yogawithashton and @julieyogatravel at @alchemyyogaubud within this year. I had no idea my life would take this direction going into the year. Learned so much about Self, meaning unlearned what/who I though I was, hope to continue my learning at every moment. So happy to be able to share it with such a lovely group of people, all bringing our own colors and spices to the circle. This breath technique we went through is no joke, took us through the deep ends of existence and then some, then in and out, did a loop-de-loop and came back around. All the while emerging unscathed, feeling fresher and more ready to engage with life than ever. I hope to share what has been shared with me. Two weeks ago, I came into this meditation training hoping to learn more about myself and unpack old patterns. I clearly had no idea what I was stepping into.

There were moments I wanted to bail, when the stillness felt endless, when boredom crept in, when the lectures were hard to digest, or the breathing exercises left me completely drained. But the incredible group I got to share this with, and the teachers who made the teachings feel so human and accessible, made it all worthwhile.

To be in a space where everyone’s sharing was heard and where my own thoughts and feelings were received with such care, is something I’ll never take for granted. I’m deeply grateful 🙏🏼❤️.

At first, my meditations felt flat. But toward the end, I began touching real thoughts and deep emotions around ego, love, and connection, things I’ve been quietly exploring over the past year.

Now I’m left with this question: How do I let go of my own ego and sense of separation, so that love and connection can truly flow?

This thought makes me feel incredibly tender. It’s a dilemma I’ve been facing in my personal relationships, and it brings me to a place of powerlessness… A humbling reminder of how much I still have to grow.

I wish I could let go of my ideas of right and wrong, and the petty feelings that stir up conflict, especially when love is clearly present, and all that’s needed is to release what causes separation. But the truth is, the current Joanna still can’t… 我心胸和心眼還不夠大…

And while this realization ties a painful knot in my throat, it’s okay. Accepting it is part of the process. Through acceptance, growth begins.

Again, grateful beyond words.

Anugraha hitosmi 🙏🏼❤️
