Thank you @warriorpainters for having me as a demo artist for the digital pleinairpril series this past Sunday! Here's what we painted :D thank you to everyone who came and who asked questions 🥹💖🫶 I hope the demo was helpful! (Also please share your paintings with me if you painted along! I'd love to share them!)

I wanted to paint Toronto hehe 🫶 anyone recognize this area? 💃 I miss walking around with friends! Summer please come soon 😭😔 I added my friends who came to visit me and joy in Toronto last year :] + a fun funky layer mode accident on the last slide

Thank you @pleinairsalon for selecting my piece as a finalist! I'm so honoured, I didn't think my piece would be chosen from all the incredible paintings submitted 🥹 Everyone's work is jaw-dropping, it inspires me to paint more and one day achieve that level of painting! 😭✨

#pleinairpril2025 is complete! Well... Almost lol... I managed to do 28 paintings (all from life) and almost all in gouache :D 💖 I really wanted to do pleinairpril in LA this year because the weather is just so much nicer, and I'm glad I got to meet so many new and old friends! Thanks for painting with me 🥹🫶 I'm still gonna be in LA for another month so if any other mutuals want to paint or hang out, let me know!

#pleinairpril day 19 (2h painting) gouache painting at the airport! Guess where I'm going 🤓 I finally felt like I could paint without rushing, also looked at a few pleinair paintings beforehand... I think I completely forgot to add colour shifts and small shapes in my previous paintings, it feels a lot better in this one 💃

Another year another completed #pleinairpril challenge! 😭🥹 Hosted by @warriorpainters 🫰 I tried to do as much as I could in gouache and from life, but it's tough with work and April showers 💔

I managed to paint 18 of these from life, and the rest are from photo refs. For those, I tried to push myself with the abstraction and simplification of shapes 🫡 I think near the end I started becoming more comfortable with gouache. One thing I learned was to not be afraid of creating bold colour variations in the beginning with a very big brush, and to be generous with the quantity of paint 🥹

Thank you to friends for encouraging me! It was so inspiring seeing everyone's paintings this month 💖

finished 2 challenges in January! 🥹💃 So glad it's over 😭 it was painful trying to learn to draw details but also unlearn that & focus on the big picture and abstracting... portraits are hard and it was especially hard without lasso tools or liquifies :') but all in all good exercise 💪 caricature resolution was very fun too! It made my day to see everyone's different takes :D

The concept - to draw a caricature each day for the month of January from the official prompt list. All styles and levels of skill are welcome - from realistically rendered to the highly stylized, from beginners to experienced professionals. The atmosphere is easy going, encouraging and non-competitive. You are welcome and encouraged to participate in all or just some of the days. It’s totally up to you!

Every January, Caricature Resolution brings together thousands of artists of all styles and skill levels to create, share and elevate the art of caricature each day, all month long. Patrick Martinez created Caricature Resolution back in January 2017 as a fun personal challenge to improve his drawing skills. He was later joined by Maria Picassó i Piquer and Euan MacTavish, who together form the admin team that keeps this beloved event running smoothly year after year. ISCA is proud to once again partner with them as they move into their 8th year! For the full list and more info, visit caricature.org/resolution
