+ 1 5 Y E A R S ! +
On this day 15 years ago I registered my ABN at the age of 24.
I certainly wasn’t the most talented in my makeup class but I was definitely one of the most driven. Now if you can get your head around it I’ve been doing this since before social media (haha mind blown I know!) I took my little start up to a local wedding fair, had a booth + booked enough brides to really only cover the costs of being there! But it was enough to start momentum + one wedding job lead to another, wedding makeup was always my main focus.
…Just to prove how long I have been around I even had a small ad in the yellow and white pages!! Ha!

Like anything in life, nothing comes easy + I certainly had my share of self doubt + not booking every job. But I have always been determined + motivated that this is what I wanted to do, so I kept going!

I was offered a position as a Makeup Educator at the then CMA Training Group. Getting the qualifications + training I needed. That opportunity lead to a career for over a decade! Makeup Education was a huge part of my career + passion for the industry. I was constantly challenged to stay up to date + relevant, which was the perfect motivator to keep pushing forward with my freelance makeup too.

Another turning point in my career has been working with the talent that is Her Canberra. Countless editorial spreads, including multiple covers in their previous magazine. Working with the best of the best in Canberra propelled my reputation forward + with such high quality content to use on my socials. These photo shoots were honestly the best of times!

Then along came my now fiancé Scott + our two cute boisterous boys Frank + Gus! Which only made me more motivated to keep progressing. If I’m going to be away from my boys working I want to spend my time doing something I’m passionate about.

So here we are… I have built my dream studio + my online booking system has been a game changer. I am busier than ever before, still just as passionate (if not more!)

There are so many people I am thankful for, but to you my clients + future clients I am most thankful to you! 🤍

It’s the end of an era, yes it’s true, CMA is closing! :( Now that this news has gone public it’s really sinking in. CMA has been such a massive part of my life + career. It’s where my makeup journey started in 2008 when I decided to study at CMA, which then saw me doing the makeup artist hustle starting up my own business which landed me a job becoming a trainer since 2010. NINE years on and I still loved being a Makeup Trainer! To be surrounded by students and other trainers with the same passion as mine made it a dream job for me. CMA made me step outside my comfort zone all the time as we always strived to be better, to be the best we could be and it has absolutely made me a better artist, a perfectionist some of my students may tell you! Haha. A big shout out to Deb and Nina who made CMA what it was, a truly inspiring place. I will miss it so much. But as they say all good things must come to an end. Here’s to the next chapter for us all, whatever that may be! 💗
So what does this mean for me you ask?! For the rest of this year I am focusing on wedding/event season and raising my baby Frank. I still love being a Makeup Trainer so who knows what the future will bring, watch this space! x
