I create paintings about healing and human connection. And elevating hard-working trades women to the level of Fine Art.

I'm glad I finally got the opportunity to see my collaboration piece with @ninaspaintlife. This piece first debuted at the New York Art Fair! It combines my graphite renderings with her painting style and her infinite lines. One of the only pieces that I encourage you to touch! Peep behind the curtain!

@ninaspaintlife created this hugging series in response to the world's turmoil! I am glad we could come together for this piece and ultimately spread positivity in its message. If you stopped by her booth this weekend, you could have grabbed a hug too. Please go check out her phenomenal artwork!!

I had the privilege of seeing @dmhood_artist first sale of the fair. I have always enjoyed his ethereal landscapes! Congratulations on a successful fair sir!

My brother @jxy.coachman is killing it! I loved his new pieces centered around hummingbirds! Fatherhood looks good on you, sir.

Excited to see my brother @kev_self_made_artist display at the fair! Loved the texture in your painted portraits! That man is everywhere. He is definitely coming to a city near you!!!

Breathtaking black portraits by @apartstudiosllc
I love the unique textures and techniques

Stopped by @kostarkustoms and interrupted his live painting for this Pic! Gotta check out his work on skateboards 👌🏾

Caught @rodriguezphotoandart in between live painting too!

You have overwhelmed my meager sticker collection, @clansmari
I am glad I got to see your new work at the fair!

Incredible work from @nicholasluciusart
I was overwhelmed by the colors and beading work.
Most definitely have my award for the coolest-designed booth!

"Art isn't just what hangs on a wall. It's the active love and energy you bring into the room while creating it." 🎨❤️

Live at New York Fashion Week, 'What the Art is this ?' caught up with Brooklyn's own Nina (@ninaspaintlife) as she brought performance painting directly to the runway.

Known for her iconic 'The Hug' series - depicting everyday people and icons like RuPaul embracing themselves - Nina's live NYFW piece anthropomorphizes a paintbrush strutting the catwalk and finishing with a massive heart.

Key Takeaways from the NYFW Live Studio:

1. The Runway Paintbrush: By giving human movement and runway swagger to a painter's core tool, Nina blurs the line between haute couture performance and canvas creation.
2. The Philosophy of 'The Hug': In a world full of social barriers and daily noise, Nina's mission is radical connection - reminding viewers that self-acceptance begins when you learn to hug yourself first.
3. Brooklyn to Philly: Spanning the creative corridors of Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Philadelphia, her work brings street-level warmth and high-fashion accessibility together in real time.
4. Live Energy Over Static Walls: Creating live in front of an audience transforms painting from an isolated studio craft into a communal celebration of love.

"Before you can love anyone else, you have to hug yourself and love who you are." - Nina (@ninaspaintlife)

How does live painting change your connection to a fashion show? Would you rather see art on a quiet gallery wall or live on the runway? Drop your thoughts below.

Save this post for your daily dose of creative inspiration.
