First winter climbing season boxed off and it certainly won’t be my last!

Had the pleasure of attending the @the_jcmt Scottish winter course with some great people. I then got out over the following weekends swinging axes whenever the conditions allowed. Greatly appreciate @matthewhughes2 taking the time to drag me up some classics, now to focus on warm rock 🪨

Is 2026 gonna be your year?

I have found so many indoor climbers aching for the mountains. But often it feels to far away and it never happens. OR sometimes people go unprepared and don't know how to behave in nature and foreign culture or disregard safety.

Going from indoors to outdoors is a huge step, but it can be an amazing one! If you find lovely people to do it with. If you find a group in which you feel comfortable and people to literally show you the ropes.

You shouldn't underestimate it. That is how climbing accidents can happen, or disrespect for nature or local (climbing) culture. But if you're patient and motivated, have an open heart and mind and if you're willing to put safety before sending hard, you can do it.

This is why we organize these trips. To create a safe, comfortable and joyful space where everybody is welcome. ❤️

Memories from our 2025 trip pt. 2

Watch that video again and look at the shapes of the rock. SO many ways to move when the rock is so featured. You just don’t find that kind of climbing indoors.

The Todgha Gorge has excellent climbing from 4a to 9a, with an absolute abundance of 5b-6c class climbs

If you wanna join the trips this year, reserve your spot on the website

Let’s Check Your Bucket List: Upcoming Summer & Post-Monsoon Treks in the Western Garhwal Himalayas

If your heart beats faster at the sight of endless alpine meadows, high mountain passes, and raw Himalayan expeditions, then the Western Garhwal Himalayas deserve a top spot on your trekking bucket list. Summer and post-monsoon seasons open a magical window when the mountains are alive—lush grasslands bloom, rivers run wild, and the skies turn crystal clear after the rains.

This region isn’t just about reaching a destination; it’s about slow exploration, cultural encounters, and walking through landscapes that still feel untouched.

Why Summer & Post-Monsoon Are Perfect

Summer (May–June): Snow melts to reveal vast green meadows, pleasant temperatures, and long daylight hours—ideal for high-altitude exploration.

Post-Monsoon (September–October): Fresh greenery, fewer crowds, dramatic clouds, and sharp mountain views after the rains wash the air clean.

Both seasons are perfect for trekkers who want beauty without extreme cold, and experiences that feel authentic rather than rushed.

Must-Explore Treks in Western Garhwal

🌿 1. Har Ki Dun Valley

A classic that never disappoints. Known as the Valley of Gods, Har Ki Dun offers ancient villages, wide meadows, and views of Swargarohini peaks. Post-monsoon, the valley glows in fresh green, making it ideal for photographers and first-time trekkers.

🌼 2. Ruinsara Tal & Kyarkoti Meadow

A quieter alternative with dramatic scenery. Ruinsara Tal sits peacefully beneath towering peaks, while Kyarkoti’s endless meadows feel like a hidden Himalayan secret—perfect for slow, immersive trekking.

🏔️ 3. Bali Pass

For experienced trekkers seeking adventure, Bali Pass is a true expedition. Connecting Har Ki Dun to Yamunotri, this high-altitude pass offers snowfields, steep climbs, and a strong sense of achievement.

🌸 4. Phulara Ridge
