Introducing TRANSLATIONS: a celebration of design, craft and the people who give ideas form. A meeting of fashion, jewellery, textiles, ceramics and objects, each with its own story to tell.

Curating this gathering has been deeply personal, and I’m so excited to share it with you.

Little catching up: I was in Johannesburg recently for a few things including the launch of @ifa_crafted at the @rmb_cib campus in Sandton. Ifa Crafted is a KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts project committed to supporting artists and strengthening the creative economy in KwaZulu-Natal, and funded by First Rand Foundation.

'Ifa' is an isiZulu word meaning legacy, inheritance and heritage.

My plus one was @sa.mantha8918 and to our amusement we were featured in the @sandton_chronicle

Also, it was super great to see @mpumi.mayisa wearing @thisisusng 🩵💚🩵

Always feels rather otherworldly these evenings. Indulging in art week and all the beauty on offer. It’s very splendid to have these emeralds ready for the time that is upon us.

A few months ago we moved and renovated house. By golly I almost lost my marbles in the process. I have a double dose of new found respect for interior designers and architects that do this every day, but as they all say it is always the hardest doing your own home.

One of the first things we did after moving was to hang our art. It made a massive difference in making it feel like home, despite a seemingly endless to-do list.

This fun gallery wall was created as a reward for surviving a looong staircase. A welcome treat for the eye, distracting tired legs from the climbing. And it’s brought many a smile!
