One of the reasons that Gold Bangle Club was created is to provide a safe space for self exploration.

Web3, with all its opportunities is certainly an area that we’re keen to explore with all if you, but the crux of Gold Bangle Club goes deeper than this.

Last week, the three co-founders lived our mantra; through exploring our passion with other women who are also curious, we spoke with @allbright , with @womenofweb3co and with @nft_nyc at various panel events.

The three of us are at different comfort levels when it comes to public speaking, and certainly, in opening ourselves up to these opportunities/ challenges, we tested ourselves and pushed ourselves in new directions - whilst exploring a topic we love.

How did it feel? Scary. Exhilarating. Satisfying.

We also got an opportunity to meet some of you, the people who bring the Gold Bangle community to life.

What are you exploring in your life right now? What challenges have you put yourself forwards for?

It’s all a journey - and we’re excited to be on this journey with you.

Tell us your stories.

I had some fun layering photos from a shoot for my ‘New Era’ series this week! This was an interesting exploration into identity and culture and I felt this was a perfect image to share with you in time for Diwali and Bandi Chor Divas (the Sikh festival that shares the same day)! For those of you celebrating this weekend have a wonderful Festival of Lights!

Episode 4 of The Esha Diaries: Who does she think she is…
.
Esha knew she couldn’t avoid wedding season forever, and after receiving her brother’s invite, she was excited to fly back home to Kenya, but dreaded being asked, when it was her turn. Her phone rang, it was Rana, her cousin. She’d also got the invite and pleaded to go shopping. Reluctantly, Esha agreed.
.
Esha was sceptical As Rana yanked her into @perniaspopupshop . The outfits were drop dead gorgeous but she could never pull them off. As she walked in however, she was captivated by the bright colours and beautiful jewel-encrusted lenghas. “These are @papadontpreachbyshubhika , one of India’s best fashion houses!” Rana exclaimed!
.
A bright blue jumpsuit caught her eye, and she knew she had to try it on. As she came out to show Rana, she could see passerbys peering in from the window. Looking closer she realised she knew them. Prina and Corrine, part of the it crew at work were gawping and laughing. She shuffled back in embarrassment and turned heading for the changing room and as she did… she heard one of cry with laughter ‘who does she think she is, Priyanka Chopra’.
.
Embarrassed about what she looked like, not fitting into the status quo, Esha retreated to the changing room, and on route bumped into @shubhikasharma herself. Two things stuck with Esha that day, firstly, how kind a stranger, so established, had been to her, she could have easily ignored her tears but didn’t. Secondly, her words if encouragement. Something she had known but still needed validation of as she struggled with her identity, being Indian and living in the West. That day Esha decided she would never be ashamed of her culture to anyone, she would always be fearless...well at least try to be ✌🏽

Episode 1: Something has to change.
.
Esha longed for a tribe of friends she could adventure with. Despite her plain Jane exterior, where Esha was confined to scrubs, grandma shoes from Clarks and a ponytail that made the side pony look fun and flirty, Esha was really a bright and fun individual. Sadness overwhelmed her at the thought that no one in her life knew who she was.
.
Her finger hovered over a picture, and carefully trying to make sure she didn’t double-tap, she zoomed in. There they all were, sitting at a bar dressed fabulously, giving the cast of Sex in the City a run for their money and having the time of their life. Esha was reminded when she watched Prina, Taya, and Corinne walk out the hospital doors for their night of adventure. If only she had the courage to just ask them. Surely they would be happy to have a fourth girl in their gang, after all, everyone knows 3’s a crowd and how would going to the toilet in pairs work. This concept always baffled Esha; why would anyone want to spend time chit-chatting in the bathroom when there was a world of music and dancing right outside, but regardless, Esha wanted to be a part of it.
.
That’s when she decided… Something has to change.
.
Give us a 💜 for some support and tag someone who’s ready for a change!

Bangles are a long standing symbol for South Asians around the world. The word derived from a Hindi term, Bangri which is an ornament that adorns the arm. Red Bangles were traditionally worn to symbolise a married woman being blessed with the good fortune of getting married and to represent happiness, luck & new beginnings. This has now evolved to form an identity statement, part of the everyday wardrobe for South Asians and above that, bangles are now also seen as a beautiful, elegant fashion piece.
