Renault has finally launched the Duster Hybrid in India and it’s here to shake things up!

The Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 comes with a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine with a 1.4 kWh battery producing 158hp and 208Nm which is the highest in it’s segment.

A new ‘Dune Brown’ leatherette interior, 29kmpl of claimed efficiency and a 1400 kms range on a single tank of fuel and new frequency dependent dampers for a much better ride quality, all of these features make the Duster Hybrid a very strong contender in this segment.

With prices starting at 16.99 lakhs and going upto 19.49 lakhs for the top end variant, it undercuts almost all it’s rivals.

I’m moving on!

61 YouTube videos.
6.56 million views.
Countless magazine pages.

Far too many airports, overnight edits, rain soaked shoots and “this is either going to be an unscripted pile of crap or turn into a career highlight” content! My stint at Top Gear, it never really felt like work.

Not because of the insane cars. Although teenage me would still lose his mind seeing some of the things I got to drive.

But because of the people in this very picture. That’s what I’ll miss the most honestly.

While everyone saw the completed videos, it was pure mayhem behind the scenes. The panic before shoots, forgotten equipment, missed call times, the roasting at 2am, the exhausted laughs after being several levels past exhaustion and with all of that we pulled through together at the very last second.

It was honestly just a bunch of sleep-deprived idiots trying to make cool shit together. Eventually it became our normal.

Which is very weird, because being associated with @topgear was never supposed to feel normal to me - let alone being the "car guy". Growing up, this was the absolute peak dream. The unreachable, watching-it-on-TV, imagining-you’d-never-be-there dream.

And... I got to live it :)

Leaving something I once desperately wanted is a strange feeling. But I guess that’s part of growing up too. Sometimes comfort zones are just very pretty parking spots.

You can’t keep going in a straight line, slotted in Top Gear forever. Sometimes you have to down shit, let the revs climb, find the Power again… and maybe Drift into whatever lies ahead.

P.S. — huge respect to my boss (@ramesh_somani) for somehow thinking “yes, this kid should absolutely be trusted with a car worth Rs 12 crore .” Still can't wrap around my head around that fact 😅

P.S. The Multistrada V2's stock seat height is adjustable from 850mm to 830mm, without the need of any tools, via a couple of tabs under it and for this video it was set to the lowest setting.
