PR8: Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço.

I planned three hikes for this trip; one world class one, a lush green one and a rugged coastline one. Made up I ended up switching plans around and doing this one last because it was so good and pure satisfying to finish on this high.

Keep your eyes on the floor as it’s quite unstable and rocky (wear appropriate footwear). I almost fell coming down as it’s well steep. If you choose to walk past the warning / no access sign - take your time.

Mega windy so tighten up your caps and your fannypacks guys. And If you’re thinking about wearing contact lens think again. So much dust and grit in my eyes. It listed as moderate difficulty but my boots felt heavy on the way back. The cava at breakfast probably didn’t help.

There’s a cafe just before the big mountain climb that does an amazing pesto cheese and tomato sandwich. Ridic reasonable too considering it’s the only place in the area.

And do treat yourself to an ice cream from the start/finish point vendor 🐽

Defo do it, it’s ace!

PR1: Vereda do Areeiro > Pico Ruivo ticked off the bucket list last week ✅

Photos don’t do it justice, (phone is 6 years old and didn’t bother taking my camera is my laptop is 9 years old 😂 so can’t edit anything from that).. but expect a lot of updates.

One of the best walks ever this!
