What a time we had in OAKLAND ✨ On April 26, 2026, We premiered our documentary short film, ‘Art & Everyday People: The Story of the Betti Ono Foundation at The New Parkway theater. Over 130+ people filled up the space with their presence, love, amazing energy, and so so so much support! This moment was everything we worked hard for and exceeded our wildest dreams. Oakland really knows how to show up and out, and we’re grateful for the last 15 years of being able to do the same! Produced and directed by Ariana Proehl. Executive produced by our founder, Anyka Howard. Edited by Amyra Soriano. Featuring an original score by Chanelle Ignant. Sound engineering by Geoff Saba. Film title design and logo by Nisha Sethi. This premiere is just the begining and  we need your ongoing support. With the energy of our sold out premeire, we’re taking the show on the road for a national tour. You can now donate to support screenings of ‘Art & Everyday People’ in  sister cities across the country. The most powerful stories of resistance were never meant to survive. Not in textbooks. Not in official records. They survived through art, community and the people who refused to forget. During AAPI Heritage Month, we reflect on the legacies of Queen Liliʻuokalani, who defended Hawaiʻi’s land and people against colonial overthrow, and the student activists at San Francisco State who coined the term “Asian American” as an act of solidarity and resistance. Their message still echoes today: ✨ Land is sacred. ✨ Visibility is power. ✨ Solidarity is resistance. To celebrate that spirit, we’re releasing new fine art prints from AAPI artists across the diaspora — including Koy Suntichotinun, Nisha Sethi, Michelle Kato, Rahul Sharma, Tanaya Sharma, and Deggeha — whose work reminds us that beauty can preserve what systems try to erase. Every purchase this month also includes a free “I Am An American” print by Shepard Fairey featuring activist Amanda Nguyen. Because remembering is resistance. And art keeps memory alive. Fam who know and are familiar, the @trustyourstruggle collective (est 2003) is back with a new pop up art show. For those who don’t know this is a crew of muralists, painters, educators, activists, now parents, and creatives from the Bay, LA, Sac, NY and a few others places in between who’ve produced workshops, gallery exhibitions, large scale murals, and mural tours for over two decades. We’re popping up on May Day this year in LA. Peep the slides to see the artwork there. Edit: although I will have work there i will not be there physically. Several of my crew mates will be tho 🙌🏾.
