I am very proud of the composer, band leader, and producer Zhi has become. He said to me when he was my intern and jazz ensemble student, he wanted to one day write for an orchestra and film. He's done it!

He went with me at that time to St Louis for the premiere of my orchestrated music for 30 pieces, and where I was also performing to two short films. He saw the hard work and stepped right into it.

This finale of this concert is The Chicken by Pee Wee Ellis. Zhi wrote a new hip, kick ass arrangement. I introduced this song to him, Christopher Lutsker bassist and their classmate, Nikita Tumerov pianist and Zhi's assistant for this production. They learned it as one of my favorites I played with Jaco Pastorius. And they too fell in love with it too.

It is wonderful to see their friendship and relationships grow in support of one another. That's what music does. I am honored that he asked me to perform with them and other incredible young musicians at this premiere concert.

March has been a strenuous ride so far (i look so tired) and it now comes to a close with my long awaited performance of the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor with the @bcc.orchestra!

I am so very thankful to my professors, friends, orchestra members, as well as all of those who supported me by coming out that night. Especially those who signed an awesome support card, I know all your names and can recognize who you are! (sorry if i couldn’t tag u! tag limit ☹️)

Enough wholesomeness, enjoy some FIRE 📸 BY MY TOP SUPPORTERS & selective memes at the end :) i wish i could put more!
