I had the opportunity to go to a leadership camp for a week, and honestly, I had no idea what I was signing up for. Looking back, it ended up being one of the biggest highlights of my summer. I got to try so many new things that I probably wouldn’t have had the opportunity to experience otherwise.

More than anything, I’m so grateful for the people I met along the way. Creating lifelong friendships, making memories, and connecting with people who I know I’ll carry with me beyond this experience has meant so much to me.

This week also gave me a lot of time to reflect on myself but what I need, what I want, who I am, and the kind of life I want to create for myself. I’m leaving this experience with so much gratitude, growth, and memories I’ll never forget.

I genuinely would do this all over again in a heartbeat. 🏕️💗

Sharing some glimpses of the work I’ve done this summer as a Global Development Scholar with World Vision Zambia through Drexel University’s Dornsife School of Public Health.

I contributed to research on maternity annexes and clean water access, highlighting how WASH, maternal health, and oral health are deeply interconnected. I also led an independent project studying dental fluorosis in school-aged children in Pemba District. Despite challenges, I’m proud that the project was completed within a month and is now recognized at the program level. My findings on fluoride levels in community water sources are being incorporated into World Vision Zambia’s annual reports.

Grateful to World Vision Zambia, Drexel University, and my mentors for making this milestone possible💧🦷
