Don’t let what you’re not currently able to do get in the way of what you’re capable of becoming!

I like the notion that jumping is not merely a feat of athleticism when it comes to basketball, but it also must be skillfully developed, used and applied on the court #JumpingIsASkill

There are high jumpers and there are skilled jumpers(and there are both). The skilled jumpers are able to use their bounce in a variety of ways (off each individual foot, two feet, from different turns, angles etc.) which make them the most effective leapers in the long run!

Lil bro @mattgrayyy would tell me every chance he could get that he’s not a two foot jumper when he would struggle to finish above the rim when jumping off two feet in our drills, and now look at him! We’ve been incorporated a lot of bilateral strength and two-foot jumping mechanics technique with a lot of intentional repetitions. Amazing what some buy-in to sharpen the right tools can get you. And this is only the tip of the iceberg…. #StayTuned

As the saying goes “if you’re not testing you’re guessing!” 🤓🚀

Every hoopers wants to know how high they can jump. I like to know how WELL my hoopers jump. Meaning how versatile are they with their jumping ability. How comfortable, how fluid and of course how high can you jump off the the Vert, off the two foot approach and approach from each individual foot? 🤔

All of these can be advantageous for performance and injury risk reduction on the court when it comes to playing in the air and on the ground (think lateral movements, cutting etc.)

Getting these numbers and visuals from the jump testing and metrics from the @hawkindynamics force plate testing during our initial evaluations help us to set out a tremendous plan of action for the long term athletic development for our basketball players! 💪🏾🏀

I’ve never met @keithwilliams1957 formally but I’ve definitely been aware of and come across plenty of guys who have benefited from working with the legendary DC area trainer!

He’s worked with guys who are well known around the entire hoops world, and if you’ve been tuned in then I’m sure you’ve seen some of his trickery displayed on the highest levels like from the first clip by @qcook323 against the blazers a couple years ago! 😮‍💨🔥

I first got introduced to this set up when I would see my guys, who are protégées of Keith, Marcus Thornton (@m3thornton ) and Tyler Hubbard (@hoopfitskillstraining ) pulling it of when they were on their run in DC area High School Hoops and on the college level!

I remember asking Ty at an open gym wtf is this that he keeps hitting folks with, he said something to the effect of “Yea that’s that Keith Williams West Side, you gotta get hip!”
Note taken and salute to the OG @keithwilliams1957 🫡📝
