This is the second time I've put these beautiful Bible verses from John 17 to song. Apparently, not everyone likes a good country song now and again as much as I do. 😉

So, I made a new song because I'm convinced that these verses should be ingrained in our minds and hearts.

I could probably write hundreds of songs with these verses, each revealing another layer and adding another flavor to them, seeking to capture the depth and impact of this prayer prayed by Jesus so we can gain a more complete understanding of His words.

Jesus tells us here that God loves us just as much as He loves Jesus. I still can't wrap my head around that. I mean, God loves us AS MUCH as Jesus. Wow.

John 17:23 says this: “May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.” (NLT)

Did you happen to see that this verse says that because of OUR unity as believers and because of the love the Father has for us, the WORLD will know that Jesus is real and that God sent Him?

In other words, we as followers of Jesus, owe it to the world to live in unity and in love.

I've said it before: unity does not mean uniformity. We don't have to agree on every little thing to be able to live in unity. The sad truth is that a lot of Christians these days have become so paranoid and fearful that they are actually looking for things that separate them from other believers, leading to division, instead of looking for the things that unite us, leading to unity.

We owe the world a better example: "So they'll know You've sent me."

I want to close out with something I recently saw.

I watched an NDE of someone who was clinically dead for 105 minutes. He witnessed many miraculous things while he was in heaven.

One of those was this: he entered the throne room of God. He was completely overwhelmed by God's love, and he burst out in song, singing how much he loved God. You know what happened? God started singing the song back to him.

So this is my prayer: that you will sing this song to the One you love, and you will find He was already singing this song to you.
'Cause He loves you just as much as He loves Jesus.
