Coaches and parents, I can't stress this enough.

Testing is NOT injury prediction.

We've had a lot of coaches and organizations reach out wanting us to test their athletes to figure out who's most likely to tear their ACL or get hurt.

I love that more people care about objective testing. But I think we're missing the point of why we test in the first place.

You can't take an athlete, run them through a handful of tests (some they've never done before), and confidently say who's going to get injured. Some measures are linked to injury across large groups of athletes. That's not the same as predicting it for the kid standing in front of you.

There are too many variables. Without context, the numbers can be really misleading.

Does that mean testing is useless? Absolutely not.

We test every single day. We use it to set baselines, find strengths and weaknesses, track trends, and understand the individual in front of us. Test them the same way over time and the data starts to mean something.

One data point is a snapshot. Trends tell the story.

The goal isn't to predict the future. It's to use what we know to make better decisions moving forward.

If we're going to use objective data, we have a responsibility to understand its limits just as much as its value.

Coaches, parents, clinicians — what's been your experience with testing? Drop it below.

🏆 NATIONAL RECOGNITION. NATIONALS PRIDE.

Congratulations to our Girls ECNL Academy Director, David Robertson, ranked #5 in National Soccer TV’s Top 25 Coaches in America! 👏

We’re proud to celebrate David’s leadership and commitment to helping our players grow, compete, and reach their goals. This recognition also reflects the work of an entire academy: dedicated staff who invest in our players every day, and players whose effort, ambition, and belief in one another bring that work to life. 💙

A proud moment for David and everyone who helps make Nationals special.

Together, we keep raising the standard. 🌱⚽️

𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

In Michigan, you don’t need a doctor’s referral to bring your kid to a physical therapist. You can call us directly.

Here’s why that matters. Your kid gets hurt at practice on Tuesday. The usual route is urgent care, then the primary care doctor, then an x-ray, then a referral to an orthopedic surgeon, then more waiting, just to find out if it’s something PT should be treating in the first place. By then the weekend’s gone and you’ve paid for three or four appointments.

That’s why we started Primal 24. Call us and we’ll see your athlete within 24 hours. We’ll tell you what’s going on, whether they’re safe to play, and what to do between now and game day. If it’s something that needs imaging, a physician, or a surgeon, we’ll tell you that too, and we’ll tell you exactly who to see.

Game Friday or Sunday and something doesn’t feel right?
Call us: 248-814-2029.

Livonia and Bloomfield Township.

Save this for the next time something comes up before a game. Or send it to another sports parent who’s going to need it.

Michigan law allows physical therapy without a prescription for up to 21 days or 10 visits.
