Great catching up with my guy Austin Mefford, head women’s basketball coach at New Mexico Junior College, today at the Texas Women’s JUCO Jamboree in Duncanville, Texas! It was great seeing Coach Mefford and his team compete against some outstanding competition. Austin is truly one of the best in the business, a hardworking coach who understands player development, recruiting, and what it takes to build a successful program.

We are proud to announce that Derin Su Öztürk has officially committed to New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) to continue both her academic and basketball journey in the United States.

This achievement is the result of years of hard work, discipline, determination, and dedication. Competing at one of America’s respected junior college basketball programs is a major milestone, and we have no doubt that Derin will represent herself, her family, and her country with pride.

Grateful to have coached Sofi this past club season! Sofi is an absolute competitor and highly skilled basketball player. She is hardworking and leaves it all on the court every time she plays. She has a bright basketball future ahead of her and I can’t wait to see her shine at the next level! Sof will be playing for New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, New Mexico. NMJC is a nationally competitive program in NJCAA Region 5 and is the National Championship runner up this past season! Good luck Sofi, we love you ❤️🤍

I’m forever thankful for New Mexico Junior College, my teammates, coaches, and every opportunity I was given here. These past 2 years gave me memories and people I’ll carry with me forever. This season had many ups and downs but we still found a way. “Refuse to lose”.
