How do you actually get your first clients when you start a social media agency?

In my case: no fancy sales strategy, no business plan and definitely no perfectly mapped-out client acquisition ‚funnel‘.

@postings.studio started with one client I’d more or less stumbled into. From there, I built the agency mostly on intuition – through Instagram, LinkedIn, people I already knew, recommendations and, perhaps most importantly, talking about my work online. A lot.

Four years later, I’d still argue that around 50% of our clients find us because someone has been following me for ages – or knows someone who has.

So this Sunday’s Substack is about exactly that: how I got my first clients as a new social media agency founder, how POSTINGS started growing and why my very unstructured personal Instagram turned out to be one of my best acquisition channels.

New Ramblings is out now. 🥂LINK IN BIO Post promoting a new Substack article by social media agency founder MJo Miermeister about how she got her first clients after founding POSTINGS in 2022. The article covers starting a social media agency without a business plan, finding early clients through Instagram and LinkedIn, word-of-mouth recommendations, personal branding and how consistently talking about her work on social media helped grow the agency.
