It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since my sister passed.

Grief has changed the way I experience every family vacation. They’re still full of laughter, inside jokes, beach days, and the people I love most—but they’re also layered with something else.

An awareness of how fleeting it all is.

I find myself soaking in every little moment because somewhere along the way, I stopped just living them and started recognizing them as memories while they’re still happening.

And then I leave with this ache I can never quite explain. Like I’m trying to hold onto something that’s already slipping through my fingers. Like a phantom limb—you know something is missing, even though you can’t reach it.

It’s bittersweet. Beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.

If grief has taught me anything, it’s that love doesn’t disappear. It just changes the way you move through the world. And maybe that’s why the moments that matter most feel so incredibly precious.

Here’s to carrying the people we love with us, wherever we go. 🤍
